Is this a real xpole?
Posted by amybecca on August 3, 2013 at 8:45 amHi all! I've read a lot about determining if an xpole is real, but could someone else weigh in on this pole for me? It's definitely cheap on Craigslist, but I'm hoping she's just sick of storing it and wants it gone! http://denver.craigslist.org/for/3977010028.html

I was told that the black silicone was the proof of the fake xpole.

Taking a closer look, its not a silicone but the round carry back that is underneath the dome. I may have been mistaken.
-
That's exactly what I was wondering – I couldn't tell what the black thing was, so I wasn't sure if it was a tell-tale sign of a fake, or some other piece!

The fake xpole I saw was much more obviously fake. I know that doesn't help, but the packaging/carrying case looks correctish. (I haven't owned an xpert in 4 years so I don't know what the V is about. The pole I bought 7 years ago didn't have a V but that may have changed.) I'd ask for a side pic of the top plate. Or just go for it. Looks pretty real to me.

I'm gonna go check it out this afternoon…so hoping it's real and that I'll recognize it if it's not!

Looks pretty genuine to me but check it out.in person first 🙂

It’s my understanding that all real Xs have a serial number, sticker on it. Also the real Xs have two engraved Xs on the base…the fakes do not.

It looks real to me too. Clear silicone on the top and base. It says it is an x pert, so if it comes with joints that are metal, it probably is real. There are no x pert ripoffs that I know of.

I noticed a few of u mentioned the clear ring on top. My fake it have clear silicone rin g….so Buyer beware!

Whooot! It has a serial number, silicone ring, all metal…and she still had the invoice to show me it was real! She was moving across the country in two weeks and hadn't used it in a year, so was just wanting it gone! I am SO freaking excited!

I know! $100 plus a couple of videos? Yes, please! Now…to set it up.
