Some competitions you have to send a video to submit to enter a competition and be picked and some competitions you can fill out a form and automatically enter. I was wondering what every ones opinion was on how we should be able to enter competitions. I see both sides of each one, but umm just wondering what everyone else thought?

    I like the video idea.

As long as someone is being approved due to their talent and not because they might be well known. I think it helps to ensure a contestant is competing in the category level that is correct for their skills

It depends only on how big the competition is.  Most that are a just submit a form type of thing are generally hurting for contestants.

i think your question is comparing apples to oranges. the video submission is not a form of registration. it's a competition in its own right, separate from the 'final' round that the competitor hopes make it to. so you register online, and fill out a form and pay a fee for your online competition, just like you do for the live comps that don't have an online round. there is no limit to how many people can apply for it, the only rules/restrictions are generally age and nationality (ie, US citizen, female, over age 18). most comps do it roughly the same way, you pay your money, and fill out a form and you get in. its just a matter of how many rounds they have before you get to perform live on a stage.
