I will be visiting London at the beginning of next year. Are there any pole studios that offer drop-ins? I haven’t picked an area to stay in yet.

London Dance Academy (http://www.laphq.co.uk/ or http://londondanceacademy.co.uk/) — The main studio is based just off Old Street and has drop-in practice classes on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Thursdays are usually quite popular so it’s best to book in advance if you can to save a spot. They have other drop-in classes such as Cardio Pole and Tone, Pole Conditioning and Aerial Pole Gymnastics as well as other stretching, yoga and conditioning classes, too.

Ecole de Pole (http://www.ecoledepole.co.uk/) — They have studios in London Bridge and Camden. I’ve never been here before but it looks like they have drop-in pole practice classes.

My favorite place to pole in the UK is Taylor’s retreat. It’s not in London but out in the country kinda near Gatwick airport. Its a beautiful old barn converted into a pole studio with super tall poles. You can pay a small fee and jam there on the weekends. Or I think they have classes during the week through The Pole Studio. http://www.thepolestudio.co.uk/polefitnessdorking.html. Here is a pic of me on the super tall poles. 🙂

I’ve only been to Ecole de Pole and Taylors Retreat – Ecole is very much in central london (I went to the Camden branch) and you can pay for drop ins. Taylors Retreat took me about an hour or so to get to (but I was travelling from outside of London and in rush hour…) out in a place called Dorking but it is SERIOUSLY beautiful there and have all size poles from 50mm to 38mm

Hi, you can also try the Pole Dancing School of Elena Gibson: http://www.poledancingschool.com/
They have several locations in London and do have drop-in classes. Check their website for locations and schedule.
Still living in the Netherlands by that time, I’ve tried one of these drop-in classes more than a year ago and I was amazed of the level of the girls & how professional the class was. The only minor thing for me was that they had 50mm poles and my hands were not used to that, so it was hard working.
    Enjoy London!

If I was to recommend somewhere, I’d say Ecole de Pole too.

But have a look at http://www.polepages.com for a pretty comprehensive list (with area postcodes within the London area). I’ve not updated the map in a while (sorry, it’s just such a big job), but the list was updated this week.

Wow thanks for the recommendations! The polepages website is amazing. I’m shocked by how many studios are available in the UK. I will be in Nottingham for a little while too. So it was exciting to see that there are a few studios there also.

    Heya,

Just a note to further recommend ‘Pole Dancing School’, near Holborn, at which I teach 🙂 We do have a couple of 45mm poles now, which Elena might even let you use 😉

My Monday daytime lessons from 2pm are usually good fun – 1hr spinning, 1hr practice, 1hr ‘new trix’ (advanced class where we try new moves and combos – students are encouraged to bring photos or videos of things they’d like to try). It’s £15 per class drop-in or £99 for unlimited daytime training for the calendar month. http://www.poledancingschool.com for more details…

I finally have all my dates and locations. I’ll be in central London from March 22nd-24th, then in Nottingham from the 25th-27th, and in downtown London from the 28th-31st. I can’t believe how many pole options are available! There are so many more studios than there are in the states! Super excited. I’m relying strictly on public transportation so I’m looking at the studios that are closest to where I’m staying. I think the London Academy of Pole Dancing drop-in schedule seems most conducive to my travel schedule and has a variety of classes. Any reviews or suggestions related to this studio? I thought I saw a location in central London near my first hotel.
