    Hey everyone,

I recently moved and my basment has very small beams. Meaning, the width of my beams arent very wide at all. Can I still set up my pole? I already set it up where I thought a beam was, but it wasnt and luckly I caught it in time because here is a small crack in my ceiling now! I have used a stud finder but since i have “popcorn ceilings it will jot read where the beams are! I really need to know if you have to have a wide beam or not because the beams in my basement arent wide at all!!

I’m not sure about the beam width but I have a popcorn ceiling in the room where I first set up my pole… if you use a thin piece of cardboard between the ceiling and the stud finder (think like a piece of a cereal box) it will help you get an accurate reading. Worked perfect for me.

Also, are your beams exposed or under the popcorn ceiling? And what kind of pole is it?
