Platinum stages pole
Posted by Staci123 on January 10, 2014 at 8:23 pmI have had xpoles and a studio Veena pole. I’m thinking about getting a platinum stages pole. I don’t like xpoles. They seem to have a slippery finish. Does anyone else have a platinum stages pole?????

one of my friends do. and stainless Steele instead of chrome so I believe healthier and I heard a better grip also. I have not used her pole yet. so I don’t know personally. but she said it was prob due to humidity in room or something of the sort, man im not helping much lol

xpole makes several finishes, one might work better for you over another. I can’t do stainless, its the slippery for me. Chrome is better, Titanum gold better still and brass best.

Stainless is HORRIBLE in the cold, at least for me. I can tolerate it when it is warmer, which is why I can use it here in NC but had a bad time with it in Ohio. Again, it all depends on your body chemistry. I personally do not like brass, but I know many who do, and me and chrome get along just fine.
What has been your problem with your past poles?

Staci- you never even mentioned what finish you owned from X-pole, and if you own a studioveena pole than that is odviously powder coat, so I am curious on why just a platinum stages pole? I would focus a determine what kind of pole finish you want and go from there…
And I actually own a 45mm brass Platinum Stages pole. Each finish has something good to offer, in my opinion.. If you think x-poles are slippery (i’m assuming you have owned chrome??) then you should love the Studioveena pole… Brass is a really grippy material and I personally love the grip on the StudioVeena pole more.. I was able to try it and plan to purchase one fairly soon. -
I love my 45mm stainless steel Platinum Stages pole. I love Platinum Stages because it’s SO SO easy to put the pole up and so so easy if you want a static to spinning pole (you just remove a small pin). I feel VERY safe with Platinum Stages poles because the top and bottom have a ton of rubbery grippy stuff that sticks well to the ceiling and floor. Stainless steel is pretty slippery if you don’t sufficiently warm up the pole. It tends to do well in humid climates like Seattle (where I live). If you set your pole room temp to 70 degrees, use vinegar on the pole and your hands, and do a good warm-up, the pole is perfect!
PS- I feel that stainless steel is the “stick shift car” of all pole finishes. For example, if you learn how to drive an old beat up 1972 truck with a sticky clutch, you can drive anything! You have to work a little harder in the beginning but if you can pole on stainless steel you can pole on anything! If you don’t want to work that hard at not slipping, powder coated and brass poles help you stay on, though they may slow down some spins. If you ever want to compete you’ll need to practice on chrome or stainless steel. 🙂
I agree with Azblanco, decide which finish you want and go from there. Brands aren’t going to differ in slickness but in the function of pole set-up/take-down, spin mode, and stability etc.
Good luck!

I have owned xp, lm, and ps poles. PS was BY FAR my favorite pole. Hands down. However, their customer service is terrible. I won’t use xpole ever again.

My xpoles are titanium gold. They seem to have a slippery finish that I cannot grip too. I luv brass, the studio I go to uses brass poles, so that’s what I learned on. I loved my studioveena pole, which is only about 6 months old, but my husband took a spin on it weighing 200 lbs, and it bent. My cieling is vaulted from 10-12ft, so brass platinum stages is out unless I buy a permanent pole but I rent. I also have tile floor and don’t wanna ruin it buy drilling into it. Thx for all the replies. Oh, also I live in Florida soo it’s pretty humid.

Brass 45s over a certain height aren’t very great no matter what brand you get. The metal is much more pliable than stainless so it will bow in the middle. With your vaulted ceiling, any brand of floor to ceiling type pole is going to require a vaulted ceiling adapter screwing into the ceiling. When you move out, unscrew it and fill the holes with Spackle. Landlords don’t look at ceilings…

I have a brass ps pole.and I absolutely love love love it…I used to exotic dance when. I was 19 and all.I was ever used to.was stainless steel poles and lemme tell ya the moment I.got.my brass ps pole I fell in love instantly !!! Ps poles by far are my favorite easy to go.from.static to spin mode with just a removable pin…and I can take it down n set it up.any where I want never had any issues with it slipping.or falling (knock on wood) lol it’s got Tom’s of rubber grip at the ceiling mount and if I remember I.think.the.bottom.plate.does to….but by far ps poles are my.pole of choice I plan on getting another once my Marilyn Monroe / pole.room is done .. 🙂 🙂

Staci- You wouldn’t need a permanent pole from platinum stages. Just a ceiling mount which can be easily taken down. They make poles up to 12 ft so you should be fine!

PS was my fav of all times. I had the brass which was slick….but the pole was top of the line!

My first pole is a PS stainless steel 50mm pole but I just ordered a 45mm brass PS pole as the stainless steel is terrible for sweaty hands. And I have sweaty hands lol

The best thing would be if you could try dirrent finish. A lot of people love brass, it just don’t feel with me. My hands have an amazing grip but i need to roll over in itac to be able to grip with the rest of my body.

i have a 10ft 45mm brass platinum stages pole. i LOVE it! it’s my favorite pole i’ve ever used 😀 i also have a 9ft 50mm stainless from Hard Core Poles, a 8ft 45mm powder coated from Hard Core Poles, i have used 45mm brass & stainless from Xpole (at a studio). i was scared to get brass but it seems to agree with me in all weather conditions that we have here in Atlanta GA. i could not say that for the stainless.
