  • Trouble gripping after a workout.

Today after I did my workout, I could not get a grip at all because my hands felt clammy. When I tried any spin, I literally spun right to the floor in .02 seconds lol I have some mighty grip. .i sprinkled that on my hands and it did nothing. I washed my hands with soap and water. .still no help. I am still new to pole dancing so is there something I am doing wrong, am I missing anything or lacking knowledge of something??? I cranked the heat up because its freezing here in Indiana so could this be affecting my pole??

Hi Kristina, I am just new, but I am seeing that everyone’s body chemistry is a little different. Some people can “stick” better than others. I am a dry-hand non-sticker, lol, and the only grip that remotely works for me is iTac. I got my jar from eBay. It comes in a few different strengths, but I just got the “regular” strength, because I find it is build able, if necessary. It does kind of muck up your pole, but alcohol wipes can take care of that. I own Mighty Grip too, but it was a joke for me.
Useless. My hands are so smooth and dry that I barely have fingerprints, lol! My pole teacher says as I get stronger, I will need less iTac.

If your hands are sweaty and slippery you may want to wipe your hands and your pole down with alcohol if you haven’t already tried that. also, “dry hands” works really well for sweaty hands. there are mighty grip gloves. and some people like dirty girl poletice. I don’t know if itac would be good for sweaty hands, I think it would make them more slippery. some people have mentioned using vinegar on their hands to make them dry…

Thank you so much ladies!! I am going to order both the itac and a pair of gloves. I guess I have to see which works best for me. . I think the gloves are a great idea! I believe that itac will help as well because my legs have no grip either , I can barely hold myself on a climb right now lol. I just don’t think I have good “stick” skin but I still have a lot to learn about my body and pole dancing. I will definitely give the pole a good wipe down with some alcohol too!! I really appreciate the feedback!! 🙂

your body will not stick well to the pole if the pole or your body is cold. that may be a problem with your body not sticking since temperatures are so low. that’s a whole different issue apart from the sweaty hands. I love my gloves but do not like to do inverted moves in them. also, I have the gloves with tack and you cant do spins with those. I have to spin bared handed. for that, I use a little bit of dry hands. hope you find a solution that suits you. just experiment. I have even read about putting shaving cream on your legs. don’t know what kind though. I ‘m sure you can read threads on here and find out. I haven’t tried it because I have a sticky body. hehe! probably the cheap white shaving cream without moisturizers, etc. like barbasol or something.
