Installation Frustration
Posted by cij1916 on February 14, 2014 at 12:49 amI measured my ceiling & the pole is 3/4″ longer than my ceiling (I’m carpetless), including the adjustment thingy. But I can’t straighten the pole all the way up. I’m close but it’s definitely not straight. I don’t see how I’ll get it straight when the top of the pole is now against the ceiling. What am I doing wrong?

Did you try screwing the adjuster further into the pole
-
I did a little but didn’t want to too much since I didn’t want to go less than the 1″ but will do so in the morning. My arms now hurt from trying to much. I rewatched Veena’s video & it definitely wasn’t that smooth with me trying to do it so I definitely think I have it too long still
-
OH NOOOO!! I’m so disappointed for you. I hope fresh arms after a good night’s sleep will be all that you need to get your pole in place. Please keep me updated…mine should arrive tomorrow. (probably while I’m at work, so the hubs will get to receive the package)

So the outcome is, although I ordered the 8-9 ft ceiling pole, the pole is too tall for my 8′ ceiling when using the non skid pad. So either I use it without the pad or I need to order another and have it cut. Talk about frustration

are you triply sure your ceiling is exactly 8 feet? Or is it slightly less? I used the nonskip pad with mine for a very, very long time til someone said they didn’t use theirs and had no probs. I ditched it and it was fine…GL!!

Slightly less, more reason to move at the end of my lease lol. I am 1″ shy of 8 ft. May try the garage but that probably won’t work in central Florida lol. Without the pad it’s in and straight.

Now I’m thinking about getting the xpole, especially while it’s on sale

How disappointing for you! I am so sorry. The garage will probably work really well for the next several months. I’m in AZ and was thinking of a garage installation too then bringing it inside from May thru October.
If I’m correct, Lil Mynx will take it back and cut it down for you but you pay shipping. Randy amd Lizzie at Lil Mynx are so wonderful and I know they will do whatever they can to help.

Yea It’s expensive to do shipping back & forth. Garage would only work until probably next month. We’ve already had temps in the 80s this winter, only reason we have these couple days in the 60s is because of a cold front. I talked to Randy & he said how to cut it. My mechanic said he can cut it. My thinking is now, I plan on moving at the end of my lease, if I cut the pole I’m restricted to houses with the same ceiling height. If I get the xpole it’s adjustable.

My pole is with my mechanic & I should be able to get it on my next off day (Thursday) I’m excited!!!!
