What are the benefits of powder coating a chrome pole vs using it as it is??

some people find powder coat to be grippier then chrome.

It is def grippier. Like everything, there are pros and cons! I think I would like a PC pole in the winter, when it’s hard to grip anyway. In the summer, though, they are TOO grippy for me….

Powder coating tends to be the most consistent grip, it’s great because you don’t need to warm it up to use it.

so as a beginner dancer, powder coating sounds beneficial but if i powder coat my pole, will it be a bad thing when i get more advanced?

I use my powder coated pole for advanced work all the time, it’s my preferred pole for working on new stuff. The only issue you may have is doing drops. I do advanced static spins on my pole all the time. 😉

Im thinking of getting my pole pc. But im afraid and they do charge a arm and a leg to do it

Quancutie23: You will need to call around to places that powder coat and get estimates. It was about $65 for me to get it coated. Each place varies at what they charge.

Sexyrockstarewife: I just did call around only 4companies in my city near me do it. And some companies just do the pc and you have to take it else where to get sanded. But one company does both starting at 120. Which Is a good deal, the other place charges 85plus but I have to get It sanded. And other places said no because Its chrome and they usually dont do that type of metal. It was weird telling them I want my pole painted they all kinda laugh but said they can do it. I just like personalizing my things and for more grip im down.

Ah I see. Well you have some thinking to do, if you decide to go that route.
