I never really tried yoga, because the little I knew about it made it seem like an uneconomical use of time. Not yoga’s fault. Haha my own lazy ass’ fault. Over the years people told me to try out different kinds since it varies so much. I finally found a routine I liked enough to try, mostly because I think it’ll help my quest for the best elbowstand/handstand! My shoulders don’t get enough proper conditioning I thought I’d share a class that others might like for an off day. Though it’s kind of a long and intense experience for a first timer like me. =P I know, I have been humbled. Beginner classes for me if I keep trying!

Also the site rocks in general. I did see it mentioned in another thread once. 🙂

I’ve just started taking yoga classes 🙂 I was like you and thought it was a waste of time and money when I could be poling instead but when my lack of flexibility started hindering my pole progress I knew I should do something, I had great intentions of having a good stretching session after every pole workout but never got round to it at home, i was always too hungry/tired/busy etc etc so now I have paid for a block of yoga classes to make sure I go every week, Ive only been going a month but can see improvement already, stick with it and it will help you 🙂

Shoulders are a BIG deal. My teacher just did a series where we did a lot of focus on shoulders. The biggest thing that we did that helped me was doing dolphin and doing plank with dolphin type arms. We also did a TON with resistance bands. Also, making sure your shoulders are extremely broadened in all the upper body work works the hell out of your shoulders in a safe way. Yogaglo and Yogadownload have great classes, too, and also yogayak on YouTube has free classes!!
