I have been wanting to give it a go since before I got pregnant with baby number 3, but wouldn’t buy one until I got my splits. I am now looking to purchase one in the near future. Any suggestions on branding and harnessing for a beginner? There is nowhere near me that offers classes or insight on them.

Check out trapezerigging.com or look up the company Fight or Flight Entertainment on Facebook.

I just bought a new lyra from aerialanimals.com. I really liked them – they did an awesome job! Also – you need to figure out what size you’ll need. I’m really short, and the standard is 36 inches – which doesn’t work for me. Decide on 0,1, or 2 tabs. Then decide how/where you will rig it. That will depend on what kind of equipment you will need to hang it.

May I ask how tall you are? I am only 5’3″.

I am 5 feet. But you will need to sit down against a wall. Measure from your butt to your head, then add about 2 inches – that would be your ideal size. When I did this, it was 30 inches. So I got a 33 inch hoop.
