So I don’t know what got into me last month, but over the course of the last four weeks I’ve gotten four piercings that I’ve wanted for a while: my cartilage, my nose, and my nipples. I didn’t pole much through the first two (I got them in that order) because I was finishing up school, and besides, I was in enough pain already! I knew my nipples would be different though, and I got them done maybe a week and a half ago. I love how they look, but right now I’m hating them.. I haven’t poled or gone to the gym since I got them! On top of the time I previously spent taking it very very easy… I’m so discouraged now. I’ve lost a lot of strength, and I can’t nail my “happy trios”, my gemini, scorpio, and butterfly (they’re my best and easiest three moves.. hence the nickname). It really sucks, and I don’t know how to remotivate myself, ya know? And how am I supposed to feel happy about my body mods when it feels so crappy to be taking so many steps back? I’m getting to the point right now in their healing that I can do a proper split grip hold again (and that squeezes your girls a little bit, so I’m proud I can manage it!) so I think I’m going to get back on the pole properly within the week, since my piercer said I could start again once my body felt ready. I just feel so bummed about it. This is really a big rant for the most part, but if anyone has any advice at all, I’m all ears!

No advice here… But I missed you around here! Sounds like you’re on the mend though. Hope to be seeing more of you.

For some reason the nipples heal quickly. Unless mine were toughened up from breast feeding my son… Anyway, I’ll be feeling the same as I continue my sleeve, my next piece will definitely have me off the pole for a few weeks. I plan on doing yoga and off the pole work as much as I’m able. You could also spend the week just dancing and spinning, that will keep your strength up. Sometimes time off is good for the body anyway. 🙂
