I just started spin today, and the dizziness was really bad. Was wondering for others if this got any better further into spin? Or worse for anyone? I hope it does, my instructor said she found that eating foods before spin pole such as dairy, egg and milk products makes her more nauseous. Is this the same for anybody else?
Are there tips on how to recover from the dizziness? I know one tip is to stare directly at the pole, I tried that but I need something better! Drove home after class constantly burping as if I needed to vomit (luckily i didnt)

Fairly common actually. It does improve over time. Just a form of motion sickness so the same things work. Used to hear from professional dancers who took motion sickness pills or wore those wrist bands so they don’t puke on the customers!
Grew up around boats and it was the same thing. Eating a little solid food about an hour before can help. Ginger ale used to help but not sure if they still use real ginger. Stay hydrated. Smokers have it worse for some reason. Ear problems even ear wax upset that balance.
Beyond the physical things, it gets better over time to where you don’t think about it. Especially that being nervous (just re-read that you just started spin) can cause it too.

I get major sicky feeling on spin mode. I’ve been mostly doing static for the last 4 years because I hated how sick spin made me. But recently, I became interested in finally learning on spin, so I now take 1/4 less drowsy Dramamine + use motion ease–it’s a homeopathic motion sickness ointment that you rub behind your ears, & it’s helped me immensely…I can actually stomache an hour spin pole class all the way through!

I have to work my way back on to spinny if I’ve stopped using it. Here are some tips I use.

-Stay with Upright moves for the first few sessions on spin so avoid inverting right away
-Change direction, switching the direction you spin can help equalize fluid in the ear
-Avoid heavy meals or over eating before spin (of course right! lol)
-Keep your spin sessions short and work up to longer times on the pole
-After coming down from spinning look directly at the pole, this will split your line of sight and can help stop the spinning.

This video has tips for spin mode too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CtinAzp17s0
