Hi all! My name is jiwon. I just got xpole xpert 45mm and installed in my room. I took classes almost a year , still i was in beginner level. How!? I took class twice a week , though the teacher said i was in intermediate class, i knew i was so bad and still was beginner level. .. Anywayz.. I stopped going pole classes and took break for almost 3 month. But now that i m going to start again, i feel like i should start from the zero. Thats why i decided to take classes in this site…
I m super stiff, far from dancer, but somehow i really like pole and though now i look so bad on pole but someday (god knows when) i wanna do good on pole,, ^^ , im glad i found this site ! Hopefully i can get much better though this class by veena and advices from you pole dancers! ..btw, my celing is only 2400mm . But still i installed xpole, you think its too low?? When i do invert(doesnt come out well yet ooo) my feet almost touches the ceiling lol! Anyone who has practiced or now is practicing in this situation like me? Just got curious!! Xoxo

Hi Jiwon! Welcome 🙂 I’m quite new to pole, but like you I still feel very stiff. I’m doing stretches most nights to try to increase my flexibility.

I’m also going back over all the basic moves/spins and really trying to do them well, with good posture, pointed toes, correct body placement and muscle use, etc. Veena’s lessons have been fantastic for that and as I start doing more advanced stuff I think they’ll set me up with good habits straight away. The 30 Day Takeoff is brilliant. Have you seen it in the lessons? It gathers together lessons from other lesson sections, like strength and conditioning, and puts them into a 30 day lesson plan to give you a really good foundation for your pole work.

Two other things I’ll be trying: big mirrors at home so I get immediate visual feedback on what I’m doing, and also videoing myself so I can watch sessions back and analyse what went well and what needs improvement. If I get really brave, I’ll post some videos on here for tips!

I’m not sure how your ceiling height compares to mine, but it sounds similar. When I invert, I wouldn’t be able to go any higher. There’s just the right amount of room to do moves in an invert but not to do invert/shoulder mount to get higher – not that I can do a shoulder mount yet – just planning ahead! I think you’ll be okay if yours is similar to that. It’s definitely better than not having a pole! 🙂

Congratulations on getting your new pole! I’m in the same situation as you all. I just received my Xpert X-pole on this past Friday and I’m really excited, but I don’t know where to start! I feel stiff and not strong enough to do anything on the pole yet. I think I’m going to sign up for Veena’s lessons as well. Any advice would be great!!! Oh and good luck on your pole journey, ladies!!!

@anzia , yea today is my 3rd day of veena’s class , so far so good. i love that she teaches from the very basic and & basic conditioning routine first,
i also want to put mirrors but meanwhile ill just record myself and see how im doing ! recording yourself would be very good to get better i think that way u can see your mistakes and correct them ..
also later on when you r better, looking at those videos you will see how far youve come!! i guess!

THanks& and yes, its better than no pole! hehe

@rosj3 i feel you, the first time i started to learn pole i couldnt even climb up well,, i felt so weak, but
as i practice you i felt stronger, now im back to pole, i gotta get back on track so im pretty much like you as if i was starting from zero. veena’s lessons – i love them so far so good, and explains very well. for me , being non -native english speaker, easy for me to understand her english so thats a plus for me too.
dont hurry and just follow the lessons day by day ..and in a few years you will be a pro!! hopefully i will too! ^^ GOOD LUCK^^ TO ALL OF US!!

Congrats on your pole! I am also new to pole and started using Studio Veena videos to help build strength. The conditioning exercise videos have helped a ton…especially something as simple as the pole hold exercise she does. At first I felt sooo weak, but after just a couple of weeks I can feel quite a difference. Good luck ladies! 🙂
