Help With Splits
Posted by scubagirl on June 11, 2014 at 6:12 pmOk, so I have never really been flexible. I have been trying to get all my splits for a couple years now and feel like I am still nowhere close. Does anyone have any new/unusual tips for flexibility? How long did it take you to finally get a split?

Have you tried Veena’s stretching lessons? I’ve been following Veena’s stretches and I can really feel the difference it’s made, I was doing a routine I found on YouTube but I didn’t notice any improvement. I started using Veena’s stretching lessons and it’s helped heaps, I’m still a long way off but I’m getting closer.
Don’t give up… you will get there π xx -
Thanks PoleTigressV! I will definitely give them a try! π

Yep I have splits routines here! Also keep in mind that more isn’t always better, the body needs time to rest even when stretching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD9tzV9HJEE

I have been slowly working back into training for my splits after upsetting my adductor about 6 months ago, which is now a crabby hip flexor, i am also currently doing PT for my hip. I believe cold stretching and not resting are my prior faults, Seems like im scared to try for my splits now. I have done the side splits routine a couple times, but i guess I’m just being a little to cautious now!i want progress but without injury! Can i do the middle splits routine without having my side splits? If so would i do side split training one week and middle the next, since its once a week at first? That sounds weird now that i say it but better safe than sorry!

Veena’s splits training was amazing! Losing them was one of the most upsetting things of having to cancel the lessons!

Shoogstandley, The idea behind the routines isn’t to actually get into the splits each session, but work on a group of stretches and include foam roller work that could help lead up to achieving the splits. You can do any of the routines without being able to do any kind of split. If you have any issues with a muscle group make sure to take extra time to warm them fully before you do flexibility work or pole. I suggest working not the back mobility routine as well to balance out everything.

Ok! Well that’s great because for some reason i keep talking myself out of middles. I have been rolling before stretching since getting your lessons, as well as taking rejuvey days serious and just basically stalking your site anytime im in question. I keep telling myself the 30 day challenge would do me some serious good…I’ll get there soon. Thank you for sharing your passion and knowledge:)

So happy you’re enjoying the site!! Keep in mind the 30 day is a program not a challenge to attempt to complete. It’s simply a guide line the program will help you build strength and a good foundation for more advanced moves. You’ll also find a lot of general tips for pole and health. Γ°ΕΈβΕ
