    Hi guys, it’s been a while since I’ve been on here.

    I had an xpole put up in my old house when I was living with my fiance, and was doing a beginners course. I got upgraded to inter prep (YAY). Unfortunately about 5 weeks ago, my fiance and I split and therefore I had to move in with my sis. Now I’m left without a job, and what makes it even worse is that my sis won’t allow me to have my pole up anywhere and even if she did, there would be no room for me to pole :(. At the moment I have absolutely no money to enroll in next terms pole course until I find a job, and now I’m craving sooooooooo bad. I definitely think pole will help me move on.

    Has anyone else been in this situation? and if so, how did you deal with no pole?

    For me no pole equals tons of stretching (back as well as splits) handstands, elbowstands, forearm stands and soooo much floorwork.
    Also maybe you can practise certain moves on poles in the park to maintain your strength (shoulder mounts or ayeshas)
    Another idea might be to check if anyone at pole studios near you does not have a pole and would let you put yours up at their place in exchange for some pole time a few days a week. Or even for those who already do have a pole some people like to have a practise partner for spotting or motivation maybe you can volunteer.

    I had no room for a pole about 4 or 5 months…so I stretched a lot,now I have my front splits and my back bending goes better. So you have really a lot to do even without a pole-)).

    A lot of stretching & strength conditioning to keep your strength & flexy up until you can get back on a pole. Working on handstands, forearm stands, wall dancing & floorwork will keep you busy too. Also look for a pole buddy in your area that you can pole with 2-3x a month & pole at their place; a lot of women who pole, like poling with a buddy/having pole jams. Just don’t give up! Make due with what you do have the best you can until you can get back into the studio.

    Thanks for your replies guys. Very true :). I’m going to find someone who can adopt my pole for now and will try to focus on floorwork and improving my flexibility.
