I have, for lack of a better term, jam hands while using my pole. I know that good grip is needed but can you have “too much” of a good grip. It makes it hard to walk around the pole and such.

Yes! I had this issue when I started and still have it pop up sometimes when learning something new. It also helped to scrub my hands really well before pole (be sure not to use a soap with moisturizer in it though). I think the problem was made worse cuz I have really dry skin. Short answer is yes totally can be an issue, so try to loosen up some if you can. Plus you may naturally loosen up more as you become more comfortable and start to trust yourself on the pole

I always said I “stick like a gecko,” especially on my current pole (which is powder coated). Can be great for certain things like static moves or learning spinny pole, but otherwise, kind of a bother.
I find myself trying to wipe my hands and my pole often.
