I’m so excited to watch everyone’s videos – they’re so inspiring. I’m pretty new to poling so my skills aren’t up to much yet. I certainly don’t have anything near a routine or ability to freestyle so I’m not sure whether I should get in on the video action or not. I’m interested to know what everyone had as their first video and what their ability level was at the time.

Hello!!! This site kicks a ton of bum. Very inspiring:)!!!! As for the routine, I’ve never attempted that, the freestyles i do i just make a playlist of music that moves me during the day or week and then when I’m ready to roll i have different playlists, i name mine : heels, therapy etc depending on my mood:) my first vid i posted was a short clip, my kiddos started fighting over a toy:\ a small freestyle, not many tricks. My 2nd vid i posted however the support felt so good, it’s like i felt my dance was finally understood, at least on some levels ! That was a huge push for me to create and not stay too busy duplicating. Every artist takes the work of another, as an idea, and it blossoms into something unique. Good luck on the pole adventure it’s sure to be a beautiful one!

One last thing you don’t need to freestyle or make a routine to post a vid;) post a short clip of your best dance moment(S) or some trick practices/ successes. Hope to see something from you soon:)

Yes as she said, there are many videos where it’s just clips of moves or even just a few seconds of working on a move. Posting is a great way to track your progress as well.

Yup! My 1st video is one of a pole sit… And it was a struggle. Looking back at it reminds me how far I’ve come!

So far all my videos are just clips of tricks. Mostly just “firsts”. I have yet to post a freestyle. Mainly because my pole time is limited and I usually have a list of things I want to work on… And barely get through that.

I need to challenge myself to just dance. My pole room inside is small and my pole is static only (this will be changing soon I hope). So I never really just dance.

Anyway, point is… You don’t have to freestyle to post a clip. 🙂

Ah thanks guys. Veena I’ve just taken advantage of your birthday lessons offer and I have an amazing instructor at the studio (has judged the world championships so I know she’s hot) and so hopefully things will progress nice and quickly for me.

Ok, decision made, I’ll try and get a video up in the next couple of days of the few bits I can do so far (eek!!!)

My 1st video was hilarious. I fresh styled dresses in eve and got my husband to join in as adam. We both were wearing swimsuit covered with leaves. I had a snake n an apple on top of my pole. I have it on my video profile here on SV from years ago. My tricks weren’t refined yet. But it wss a funthemed video to do

My first vid was a short one that i recorded on the first day i ever did any dancing, i got so many nice comments that it pushed me to post more! The song was called ‘And When I Die’ by the Heavy. Good luck to you and happy poling!!
