I suck at this. I try it from gemini/Cupid where you lift hand over gemini knee and flip, I try from flatline Scorpio which is a fugly scramble…what would you recommend? Can’t make it look graceful at all and my top hand always slips so I never feel secure.

Will do vid this week if get chance but could do with practice ideas before shooting and getting more thigh burn out.

    Thanks 🙂

Thank you! What’s superman spin? I can’t do superman from floor press up or reverse handstand at all :-/ but have done it from gemini (badly) and Scorpio (awfully). I think the tip/flip/drop/ arch is failing – I get in very tentatively and awkwardly and then droop. And shriek and curse. I can CAR and pole sit no prob so dunno why my thighs get so angsty about superman. Will try your tips – thanks again.

Try from shouldermount, this was easiest for me in the beginning. Or pike hip hold!

I’m interested in exits out of Superman too…are there any nice ones besides shoulder mounting out? I still haven’t accomplished the side V to superman yet, only from the floor so far, but once I do get it I don’t want to just drop to the floor. Though I’m betting that will happen a number of times regardless! 🙂

I’ve had a lot of success with having people get into it from shooting star/jasmine. That way the hips are already mostly turned. And the push out with the bottom hand allows you to grab the pole above your top knee with the top hand. Then it’s just a matter of arching your back and letting your hips drop.
As for exits – if you’re flexible enough you can reach back and go into figurehead. Or you can lean forward and drop down into Gemini

Ooh that’s a good idea: will try from Jasmine/shooting star. That’s another move tbh that is a bit messy, can’t get a straight line on it. Because my shoulders and hips are hypermobile I can have my arms and chest open, and still have my bum sticking out.

This vid really helped me https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/51fbb772-81dc-477b-987a-5f910ac37250 & it’s how I explain/help my students get into it now too.

I also teach it via pike hold (& my fave way to get into it too), which a lot of my students find easier. To get out you can reverse it or figurehead

Oh or you can go into titanic from it!

Forgot about that vid. Thanks. The most success has been from aerial invert/gemini/ flip. If am close to ground I run out of room to drop and to use lower hand. The hip flip tip is great!

I think you can spin in from cradle too? Is that easy or hard in your opinion?

Well I sneaked in a cradle attempt at studio tonight: dear God, I looked awful trying to thread leg, drooping bum and flailing so clearly need to try harder with that. I think gemini and flip is best option so far but it is THE most ungraceful awful looking thing; can’t see how to ever freestyle it into a smooth flow.

Thanks so much! Commented on vid 🙂

For me the most straightforward entry is from outside leg hang…and that is the first way I teach, but my students seem to love getting into theirs from flatline inside leg hang or piked hip hold. It looks like some sort of magic and that’s so exciting to watch. 🙂

PS – I am SOOOOO glad my tip video is helping people get this move! I struggled with that blasted hip flip for entirely too long.
