Mighty Grip Gloves Review
It’s been crazy hot and humid this year, and my poor pole and I just couldn’t deal with it anymore so I bought the Mighty Grip gloves with tack hoping for a miracle. Well, not actually, but you know what I mean. First, I don’t attend a studio so I bought them from Amazon. Reasonable, if not great price, free shipping, and they got here super fast. Following the size chart my hands are exactly 7 inches = small. But it states “with tack orders should consider going up a size” and I did. Decided on a medium. When they arrived I tried them on and yes, they were snug, but not uncomfortably tight. Perfect. Now on to the pole! My first climb and I was impressed. The fabric between the fingers will take some getting used to, especially pressed into my hand as I’m pulling my weight around, but honestly it’s not that bad at my current level of strength. These gloves are not magic, don’t daydream about pulling off ayesha’s or holding never ending spins all of a sudden if you couldn’t do it before, but they are now an indispensable tool in my Pole Arsenal! Whenever my hands start to get too sweaty I pop these bad boys on and can practice for quite a bit longer. I still have to wipe down the pole and tack on the gloves with alcohol every 5-10 minutes, but that is significantly lowered from the “every time I touch the pole I have to re-wipe; God forbid I have to grab the pole then readjust my hand ’cause nope not happening” situation I was in before! I now have a confidence I didn’t before, some level of trust that my sweaty hands would not allow me to feel, and this Florida girl is so grateful!
So basically, if you’ve ever considered the gloves, I’d say go for it! Not much to lose, so much to gain. Recommend 9/10 😉

Mighty grip gloves are ok after a long day of poling. It helps keep my hands from blistering.but for me the gloves seemed very slippery but after I got use to them they were ok I just put itac on them and I was good to go. I used the gloves only on static never on spin

Right. I should add that I use them on a spinning pole. Have not tried them on static yet. And true, after the last two practices, where I used them almost the whole time, my callouses are already starting to peel off. Depends on your point of view if that’s a good thing or bad thing. 🙂 Curious, did you try to wipe the tack with alcohol? I noticed that the tack would become slightly slippery after a bit but a quick rub on the pole cloth cleans them up and they are back to tacky for my situation.

Do they cause any wear to pole finishes?

I’m on a chrome and have had no issues so far. My hands aren’t glued in place, I can still move around the pole fairly well, therefore I don’t *think* it could pull or scrape enough to take off the finish. Maybe someone with another finish/experience can chime in?

Pretty Pixie, I love my mighty grip gloves too. Like you, if I had to readjust my hands it would usually mean I just couldn’t complete the trick or combo. I cant even climb to the top of my pole without my hands being too sweaty to do anything. I was sick of struggling with the sweat and wasting time. I use the non-tack gloves on static pole and tack gloves on spinning pole. I find that I can stay on the pole for much longer now and it has helped me to gain strength because I am gripping for much longer. I just totally disagree with having to struggle through sweat in hopes of one day I wont sweat as much. And I honestly resent other people telling me to just struggle with the sweat. that has been my experience. I know if they had the sweat issues I had they would be wearing gloves too or they would not be poling at all. I’m so glad you like your gloves too. they have really been a game changer for me. 🙂

WebJunk, I haven’t noticed any wear on my pole from the gloves. the non-tack are like a soft leathery type material. the tack gloves are a shiny vinyl type material, similar to many pole shoes/boots. I haven’t seen any scratches or anything and I am pretty rough with my equipment. I use a brass pole at home and chrome and titanium gold at my studio

Thank you for all the input on this ladies. I bought a pair early on in my pole adventure and they helped me with strength training moves, but they don’t work for spins on a static pole for obvious reasons. I loaned them to a friend a long time ago, but now that we are working on advanced mounts and holds I’m thinking it might be time to get them back and see if they help. I live in an area where it gets up to 100 degrees in the summer and I’ve been so slippery lately.

No doubt the tack will not work on a stationary pole if you wish to spin. I would recommend the non-tack for spinning on a stationary pole. As you progress in Pole you will eventually end up with two
pairs of gloves (Tack and Non-Tack) as each have their own characteristics and uses for specific cases. Hint, have each pair a different color; makes it easier to pick out the gloves you wish to use for a specific maneuver.

I bought a pair of really cheap (probably my answer right there) non-tack gloves from some china store and they slip off my hands and the pleather type material just disintegrated but without them I’m getting wicked ugly and painful callouses. do these gloves help with the callous issue? and I have tack anklets and not sure if that shiny material really works, maybe I will try to wipe them off with the previous posted trick!
