  • Should I powder coat my TG?

I’ve been poling for about 4 months and I’ve discovered that I’m a really sweaty poler. I’ve pretty much figured out what grips aids will (and won’t) work for me, and I can do a ton of stuff on the 50mm brass pole in the studio, but can’t do much at all on my 50mm TG at home. I’m new to pole so I thought I’d give the TG a chance and see if things got better before I gave up on this pole.

I have read several threads on here saying that almost no one doesn’t like TG, so I kind
So my question is, do I powder coat my existing pole? Or buy a brass pole and sell the TG?

What do folks think about powder coated poles? I’ve never used one. Are they good for sweaty pole beasts like me?

I’ve never tried a powder coated pole but I’d like to say I absolutely HATE titanium gold! I can’t figure out why everyone likes them online. We used to have one at my studio and I can’t think of a single person who liked it, so we had to get rid of it. I have a brass pole at home (new 2014 Xpert) and it’s wonderful. We have exclusively chrome at my studio…I use grip at the studio but none is ever required at home. Plus once I got used to the extra pain of brass the chrome starred feeling sooo silky and smooth on my skin by comparison haha!

haha! Alyson you are the first I’ve heard that didn’t like TG. I agree with you about brass, it is very good for us sweaty people. and yes, the chrome feels very soothing after using the brass. I used to hate chrome but now its nice

Yes I love my TG but not in Vegas summer time. If you sweat tg isn’t usually a good fit, I’d go with brass. Some like PC for sweat, and it is better than the TG in that way, but if you sweat all over and live where is get hot often then brass is good.

Thanks, everyone! I am likely going to just sell the TG and get a brass pole. Still super curious about powder coated finish though. Anyone else have any experience with this for sweaty gals?

For most of my ladies, if they get sweaty they just slide right off our PC poles. When it’s hot, they usually prefer the chrome or SS poles. I think we need to get a brass one next to help us stick through the hot South African summer!

My powder coated was a bear in summer. It was either too sticky to the point of ripping skin or too slippery when I was sweaty. It was great all other seasons but I hated it when it was hot and humid. I am the same with brass though and really do by like it as a pole material.

I mean, what type of PC is the best? I found a shop that does PC, but they have many finishes.

I like a slightly glossy finish, but really you’ll want to be able to feel a sample and choose, you might like something else.
