I just completed your survey and shared it with my pole studio sisters. 🙂
What a fun project! I want your job. 🙂

    Dear Melanie,
I’m a researcher by profession and I think you had a fantastic idea!!! I have a couple of comments on your survey, which I have just done: Question 15 – to be honest I have no idea what co-ed means (it was a compulsory question and I answered no…). Question 19 – many studios around the world, especially outside the US/UK do not use a 1-8 level system, they are either mixed classes or beginner/intermediate/advanced, I put 6 in there because that is my level at the PDS studio in London (I used to live there and travel often, so I keep visiting it). I wasn’t sure if pulling hamstrings was considered an injury (I answered no to injuries as none were serious or took more than 2 weeks to recover just by resting). Finally, you might find useful to know if people have moved since starting pole dancing (I started in London where there is a lot of choice and moved to a country where it’s only just started… so have not much choice of classes). That’s all!

Are you planning at all to pass through Cyprus? It’s still nice and warm here, not like in London! It would be interesting for you as pole dancing here started only 2 years ago and it’s been booming also to be honest it can be quite an ‘old-fashioned’ society and pole dancing it’s still frowned upon, we do get some nasty comments on fb… oh well, all the best with your research and enjoy London! I’ll come up there soon to take some classes at PDS!

I polekat I, I’m in London now. I’ve been to a studio in Walsall, but am looking for more places to visit here!
Lula Geddes, thank you so much for the input. Co-ed means male and female and any injury regardless of how long it takes to heal, I consider. I’m not sure when I will be in Cyprus. I’ve found the same experience about pole dancing being mildly vilified in Budapest whereas not so much in Copenhagen. Hopefully I’ll see you at PDS some time! I haven’t been there yet, but I’ll check it out!
