if this X Pole (50mm) trade falls thru this weekend, and I then would need to order a pole, im torn between 45mm and 50mm….not sure what id need. im not a thin girl AT ALL im nowhere near 130lbs even, so would a 45mm be as sturdy as a 50mm, of course id want something quality, not a cheap piece of crap. I know i want the Static/spinning modes. id like something adjustable and portable. i have no idea about what finish….but mainly im worried a 50mm will be too bit but a 45mm will be more uncomfortable/less sturdy too. if that makes sense. if i DO get this X Pole and its a real one, id live with it being 50mm. it is an older one, the kind that screws together i assume. the owner says its about 4 years old. unless someone around texas or oklahoma is selling anthing !!! haah id be interested

Can’t really comment on the pole you have, other than I don’t see any x-joints so I assume it’s an older model. That said, your weight is not going to be a consideration when choosing between a 45mm and 50mm xpole… I have a 45, and my husband (who is 250+ lbs) can swing on it, no problem. We’ve done doubles tricks in class on them as well, so you know even with smaller women that’s a considerable amount of total weight. Get the size that feels best for your grip (for me, I am short with small hands, and can’t manage a 50mm).

45mm is pretty standard right now, and will make gripping the pole with the hands easier. The larger poles can be more of a challenge (but not impossible) for smaller hands. 🙂

Looks OK for you! I have big palms and long fingers and that’s my hand on a 50mm..

50mm pole offers better grip for legs.. They say it’s easy to go from the 50mm to the 45mm but its way harder to learn something on the 45mm and then try on the 50mm.
