Hello Veena Community!! I have volunteered to perform in an erotic art show at a local art gallery in the MD area. I am very nervous and excited at the same time and wanted some advice on what I should and should not do when performing. The gallery has its own pole that is stainless steel, I have never used stainless steel before so I am not sure how it will react to my skin, are there any recommendations on what adhesive/tact could be used on a stainless steel pole? Also the song I am performing to is Secret from Maroon 5, I have not set routine so I had planned on freestyling, if you can give me advice on what tricks/moves to use during a freestyle I would greatly appreciate it. ANNNNNNDD if you’re in the MD area it is going to be Nov 6, 7 – 11 at the Gallery 788 in Baltimore, MD.

You should always be prepared for all situations when it comes to grip aids. If it is cooler in the place I find to be my go to grip. If it is going to be warm, I use liquid grip which is drying with tack. Stainless does NOT like to be cold. Do you know what kind of stainless it is or the manufacturer? Some stainless sucks balls especially if it is brushed.

Whatever you decide to do, leave lots of room for error and do not attempt to do something if your grip is compromised. I have learned the hard way, trust me. I even have watched people completely fall out of stuff in a bad way when grip was not the best.

Learn the song and try to have a few moves that are timed to specific points in the song and leave the rest to freestyle. Most of the people who will be there have no idea the difficulty of moves and simple spins leave them in awe.

    Have fun!!!

Thank you chemgoddess1 for your through advice!! It is a stainless steel from platinum stages so it is one of those portable poles with the stand. I will have to get some grip aide. I am use to a brass pole so shaving cream with some itact usually does the trick. I was thinking of three spins and at least two tricks then try not to blank out and forget to freestyle. Absolutely I would not do anything that compromises my grip especially since this is a on pole I haven’t used before. I am hoping they either videotape or take pictures I will share them 🙂
