Question for studio owners/students
Studio owners has anyone started out with only 8 ft ceilings and been able to make it work as far as been able to teach on them. Climbing of course seem like the biggest challenge.What others?
Students have you learned on a 8 ft pole in a studio setting and felt like you were able to progress. What was the worst disadvantage.
Looking at a spot but the biggest concern is the ceiling height only 8ft…Thank you ladies for any responses. Have a poletastic day!!

8 foot ceilings will work until you start inverting. Shorter students will be ok but taller ones will have problems.

Yes chemgoddess and I forsee trouble when learning with heels…we have the building now and got to figure out what to do with it…at least for the next year…

Hmmm, as someone who started with an 8 ft ceiling and is on the taller side, I would say it could become frustrating quickly for more advanced students. And yes, heels would be a problem. If it’s something you HAVE to work with you can get creative and do a lot of grounded work. If you don’t have height try to make sure you have nice flooring to make up for it. While it’s not ideal a lot of cool things can be done low or on the floor. 🙂

I have about an 8 ft ceiling and am also on the taller side. It’s worked fine for me because I don’t wear heels. Otherwise I don’t think I would have liked it. I think working on spinning pole is better than static if the pole is short. I’ve done long combinations on this pole on spinning without coming down. I like Veenas advice about using the floor a lot and invest in a good floor.

Was Able to get out of lease….they were sympathetic to my ceiling concerns!! Now To keep looking
