Crossfit can be super demanding. Here’s a thread I found discussion cross fit and pole https://www.studioveena.com/forums/view/50d1fef2-a830-4ca2-bc19-05f80ac37250

no help really since they cant comment on their balance with the two, but i know pantera, jamilla, and some of the really seasoned pros do both.
but….just putting in my two cents and maybe youve been doing crossfit for a long time…so forgive me if im overstepping… while the actual exercises of crossfit can be amazing (as people mention in that thread) trying to go as fast and hard as you can for a period of time can really quickly lead to bad form….which can lead to injuries. i’ve had numerous massage clients come to me who are in their 20s who have had back surgery because of cross fit injuries. and the number of people i see in PT clinics (as well as massage who) have a laundry list of injuries related to crossfit is insane….and pole is a sport that is very injury prone if its not done properly, or if its done while the body is overworked.
one of my strength training coaches (who actually took up pole after we were chatting about it!) does crossfit type workouts, but for her, training until failure means training until technical failure (ie the exercise could no longer be done with 100% perfect form). this is a much safer way to go about things but requires an excellent coach. a highly competitive crossfit gym can peer pressure that approach out of the way. again, depends on where you go, but if you choose to do crossfit that route is optimal
just be careful….in the entire exercise physiology department at the university i attend, not one person does crossfit. thats always been interesting to me.
i frequently joke that if it werent for runners, crossfit, and desk jobs. i’d be out of business 🙂
sorry, i know you didn’t ask for a lecture on crossfit…to be fair (and as you know) many people have gotten amazing results from it without injury. i’m just in a business where i mostly see people after theyre injured and knowing how easy it is to get injured from pole as well…well, its definitely risky business.

Lucca lol, every time I go see a sports massage or chiro person they look at me and go ‘cross fit injury?’ And I have to explain, no, over training pole.

yeaaaaah definitely don’t see pole injuries as much 😉 i had one client come to me and say she injured herself doing aerial arts and i kinda pried and put out there that i poled and then she was like yes!!! 🙂 it IS aerial art though, i was kind of impressed by that phrasing of it/have stolen it when the occasion calls for it
