So I love handsprings and cartwheels, however I do them mostly as a challenge and not incorporating into my dancing because they seem so gymnastic-ish and I tend to just move right back out of them instead of staying on the pole.

What do you do from them? Or what have you seen done from them? Thanks!

I love butterfly from handspring , and I can’t do it yet but cartwheel mount always looks really versatile to me, like you could go into ayesha , or butterfly, or straight edge – or wrap your legs onto the pole and do anything =]

There are some neat combi’s that use these mounts along with Ayesha’s in the quick lesson section!

I have done butterfly from half handspring, but not butterfly from handspring. And I do ayesha/straightedge from cartwheel, but am used to just coming back to standing. I also prefer elbow grip, as I can transition easier back to the pole than from SG. I guess I need to pay attention to see what others do and practice with it more. 🙂

If you come onto the pole with something versatile like a Gemini hook you could go anywhere; pull upright, gem/scorpion switches, shooting star, superman…endless options really.

Dust bunny has a good point. Also, do ayesha variations (e.g. splits), inverted bodywaves, or a meathook
