Hi, considering investing in a Lil’ Mynx pole that converts from static to rotating. They sell one that is powder-coated and one that is stainless steel. I’ve never used anything but static brass poles. I would love to hear people’s thoughts on the pros/cons of these or other poles.

Hi Cat – I have the stainless one. I’ve never tried the powder coated one, so I can’t compare the two. I can tell you that when I first got it I found the stainless to be very slick. But once I started using it more and cleaning it with the highest percentage isopropyl alcohol I could find (I think its 91%), it is fine. I have heard that powder coated can sometimes be too grippy (no slide whatsoever), but like I said I haven’t tried it so I can’t be sure of that. Hope that helps!

Hello:) I have had lil mynxs only And have never poled on anything else. Love them. First was 50 mm ( I’m 5 foot and petite so it was a bit big for grip )the one I have now is 45 SV lil mynx rotator and it’s the perfect size and the button for switching is super convenient! Both powder coated and I have never had grip issues, rarely use grip aid. I’m not much of a sweater however.. If anything a swipe with the alcohol rag is enough. Hope this help and happy pole shopping to you πŸ˜‰

If you want grip go with the PC lil mynx, I lvoe mine for the grip! I have heard their SS can be a bit slick so that might be what you’re looking for. We sell them here btw πŸ™‚ https://www.studioveena.com/store/index.php/poles.html

Veena, thank you, I didn’t know you sold them. very convenient to get the pole and lessons in one place. Do you recommend the powder coated or SS? Having only used brass I am not sure which way to go.

I should say though that if your body tends to sweat you’ll find even SS grippy Γ°ΕΈΛœβ€Ή
