I’ve been dreaming of a pole stage (specifically an xpole lite because I want the option of the silicone pole) and now that I see that a lyra can be mounted to the top, I really want one.

Lyra is in general my least favorite apparatus, but I do like it. Over the years pole has been pushed back and lyra takes over and then vice-versa. My true love is silks, but although I’ll probably buy an adapter for some pole silks, I’m still not convinced they’re all that awesome.

Anyway, onto the lollipop lyra! I lean toward 45mm on pole size and that’s what I’d get for my xpole stage. Is 45mm (chrome) strong enough? What about the 48mm silicone? A lyra seems like it would put a lot of torque on top of the pole, especially if you side mount. Is there a minimum pole diameter or maximum pole height before it becomes unstable? My guess is similar to the pole stage recommendations for total height (including the lyra), but just want some confirmation.

My hubby and I are building a new garage so I’m supposed to be watching my pennies, but I may just have to squeeze this one in.

    Thanks!

There is a guy name Dorian. He is great at answering questions. His site is FluidMetalDesigns.com

As for the silks with pole, I do have one and I teach it as well. it’s great!! It really builds your muscles!! You can use it on a stage or on a pole mounted to your ceiling. So you can get both 😉
