    Hi everyone

I’m new here and new to dancing and exercise in general. I’m currently doing Veena’s 30 day take off and I’m on day 16. I’m really struggling with my grip due to sweaty hands. I’ve always got fairly moist hands even now just sitting here not doing anything they feel a bit clammy. I’ve tried using dry hands grip stuff and it doesn’t work. It’s ends up coming off my hands real quick and leaving a nasty residue on my pole. I’m thinking that gloves may be a solution or can anyone suggest something else?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

I can’t really suggest anything as I’ve only used one product so far however I do want to say it should get better over time. When I first started out I used to sweat terribly because I was unfit and generally very weak. I used to slather on the liquid chalk and then keep doing it multiple times throughout the class. I was a walking chalk monster. Now it’s so much better though I’m still more sweaty than not. As you get stronger your grip will also strengthen enough to help you grip through the sweat, if that makes sense. I’d recommend buying a little hand towel you can take with you to wipe yourself off and the pole too.

I have the same problem but my hands are dry and sweaty. Anyways, dry hands only works for so long and I am constantly wiping my hands off and re applying and wiping my pole off… So frustrating ! I’ve sent away for a bottle of this http://www.amazon.ca/iTAC2-Regular-Strength-Absolute-Control/dp/B0047WPYGC I’ve tried it before in studio and it was really grippy so… Hope this works for at home use too 😊 maybe it will work for your problem as well?

for Dry and Sweaty hands and then a little Mighty Grip over the .
There are products available for excess perspiration that may occur any where on the body. We have some but not all that are available. We have had success with both Dry Body and Dirty Girl Poletice. You can see and read about each product on our web site. Sometime the use of more than one product will solve a specific problem. Just like layering fragrance, (Body Lotion,+ Par fume,+ Body Powder) so will layering of different products for perspiration, along with the use of a grip aid will work well. 1 + 1 can equal more than 2. Much will be learned by trial and error as no two people have the same body composition as far as acidity and body chemistry. In fact, what might work one day for a person may not work the next day: humidity, ambient room temperature, time of month; all will play a part in what will help with a situation on a particular day. Every Gym bag should have an assortment of products.
Sorry for the long read but I see this discussion, in one form or another, at least once a week. Please ask any questions you may have at this time and I will be more than happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability.
This is a suggestion from one of our studio teachers located in Florida where it can be humid on occasion :-)):

“The following regimen has been recommended by a Pole Dance instructor for those with the problem of Hyperhydrosis.
It has lessened the problem for her, perhaps it can work for you.
“One of the problems with people with hyperhydrosis is that they lack
vitamin B. We don’t produce much and the body takes from the hands first.
So I bought vitamin B complex which has all the B’s.
I also take a multi Vitamin and a combination Calcium + Magnesium with Vitamin
    D supplement.
Also, peanut butter and diary increase the nervous system to think you need to
sweat more, so I stay away from those items.
    It has been very helpful”

You should try time grip. It is an antiperspirant and it works pretty well the only bad thing is having to wait 30 minutes before poling to let it really get into your hands. Title grip gloves are also great.

I have the same issue so here is what I do. I use my gloves which have like a goat skin almost kind of padding. than when that gets soaked I switch to my dry hands ultimate gripping solution its agod send I got it on amazon. I can say also having a fan or a.c near by to dry your hands at first sign of sweat is very helpful I did notice that after a month my hands did get dryer as I pole. try to stay calm don’t get nervous . Good luck! I have tried mighty grip , dose not work for me I sweat too much and also tight grip actually makes my hands more wet imo

Try Dirty Girl Poletice. It’s great for sweaty hands! Cramers firm grip is good for spin pole too but you can’t really do spins with it. ☺
