Good god why can’t I get this?! Anybody have any advice. I can’t get any grip to even start this trick. I imagine it to be gripping between the stomach and hip area. But I just can’t get a grip there at all. There has got to be something I’m doing wrong. Please tell me this move isn’t just that one hand supporting all your body weight?! I can jade, no hands jade, and chopsticks, but machine gun isn’t happening at all. I would post a video but there is really nothing to show you! I stand by the pole , put my leg up, make my shelf with my arm , grab with opposite hand but nothing is actually holding me on the pole to lift off the ground. Help!!!

I have never been able to do it from the ground! Aerial and spinning! Kristy Sellars youtube tutorial, have you watched that? It helped me. I will bump my vid of it as on spin you can see the entry really clearly. It’s hip and hands hold and it’s balance plus hamstrings flex.

oh my god!! TropicalVertical!! I love you!! okay, so I just got finished with 2 hours of poling and handstands so I’m exhausted, bruised and have lost some skin. I just took a long bath and was looking at your video while I was soaking in epsom salt. I thought to myself, damnit. Im gonna get out of the bath and just let myself try it ONE MORE TIME. I did it!!! I only managed to hold it for like a second or two, but it was so much better than all my other efforts!!! I dunno. something about seeing how your bottom leg is kind of away from the pole before you get into the move helped me. I was keeping that bottom leg really close to and wrapped around the pole and it was making it hard to get the position and grip right. I only tried it from the floor but I did it! and I was never able to get that from the floor before. so next time when I practice I will remember how to get that grip again. you have given me something to work with. thank you thank you!!!!! you are awesome!! such a help. it’s weird how its the little things that help. I was thinking it was something about that top leg or my hand, but it was really the only thing I wasnt thinking about . the only thing that really doesnt seem relevant for this move, my bottom leg. 🙂 woo hooo!
