• HELP!

Posted by lazarenka on May 15, 2015 at 8:22 pm

I am not very flexible, and seem to be stuck that way. I am very athletic, but simple moves like The Spinner, The Chair, and ones that your legs aren’t on the pole and you are holding yourself out… all these evade me. I live in a tiny Bible Belt town, and so there are no classes or instructors to ask what I am doing wrong. It’s hard for me to fail at something… but when I can’t even complete the Beginner DVDs I bought, HOW AM I GOING TO GET BETTER?! Do I need more strength or flexibility? I just want to go upside down, but I don’t have a spot to help me and to make sure I don’t break my neck. What should I do? Is there a website to get tips directed at my problems? Is that this site? Thank you.

this is probably the best source for teaching yourself pole at home. buy the lessons here! better investment than any DVD you could possibly buy. way more information, lessons and safe, thorough breakdown of each move. everything is set up in a progressive order so you dont have to guess what you should be working on.

Get the lessons on here. I taught myself to pole & these are very helpful! Also invest in a good crash mat 😉

Yeah, I just have to echo what everyone else said. These lessons have helped me beyond words. I do go to a studio too, and I still find the lessons here essential for my home practices. 💕💕💕

I also am in love with my crash mat. You can get by with cushions and stuff, but I’m glad when it came down to it I bought the mat. Just makes me feel safer practicing at home.

Thanks for the input! Any mat in particular you could suggest? And where online could I get it?
