Hi Veena, I am looking at possibly getting my pole powder coated but, being in Australia, can’t get the Little Minx coating you get done.
So I was just wondering what the name of the two step process is so I can ask the place near me if they offer this type of finish.
I assume it’s some sort of coating over the basic powder coating?
I really don’t want the sort of finish that the monkey bars and playground equipment have at my daughter’s school as they are a bit rough on my skin (and squeaky as) and just not very pleasant. But the chrome is proving too slippery for my hands- even with Dry Hands I end up wiping my hands down almost every other minute.
I am going to try this special deodorant that eventually blocks the sweat glands (on my hands only), just because the sweating is annoying as all hell, but the chrome is still an issue with my legs and arms being sweaty too.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give,
    Emma x

I don’t know anything about the process 😊 However, I would go to whatever place you find and take a look at their finishes and touch and feel them as well. I had a pole done by someone in Vegas and I just went with a finish that was a high gloss and really like it!

Thanks Veena, will do. I’m still debating getting a brass pole but I live in a coastal town and worry that the air might be too corrosive. But I do love brass

Hi Sk! I got a pole powder coated recently by a local company that does not specialize in poles. I did it with the color they were running that week, blue, no special finish, and it turned out great. I think to be safe, going and looking at colors is good, but I think you should be safe with any kind of powder coat. I love the stickyness and warmth of my powder coated pole. Good luck!

Princess buttercup. How much money did that cost you?

What type of company would I call and ask them if they could do that?

Tamarinda- I just googled powder coating and my local area and got a couple of businesses that do it.
I was expecting the price to be around $100 or even more but it’s only going to cost $40 for a standard colour, although up to $80 if I want a fancy colour.
I rang around a few places and they all quoted me roughly the same price too 🙂
It works out to be a LOT cheaper than buying a brass pole insert, which is what I’ve been considering $210 for that).

OMG! I called some companies and they were all closed cuz it was around 7. What a fantastic idea though and a bargain! I’m kind of scared to mess my pole up cuz poles are expensive. But I assume they know what they’re doing to have a business. I think I might go through with it.

I called local companies and I am being quoted anywhere from $125-225 for a 9-foot pole.

I think it was about $50. Grayeyes, see if they can run the pole with other items. Mine was cheap because they were already running the oven for that color and didn’t have to do a special run just for my item. It also may be more costly because their oven is large and its the only item.

Just google search powder coating Tamarinda. Good luck!
