    Hey ladies!
I’ve been working on my inverts for a while (basic inverts, that is) and I can get up there pretty easily, sometimes even taking it slow (in attempt :P) to make it graceful. However, no matter how hard I try coming down my abs just seem to refuse to cooperate. Let me be clear, I don’t drop, but I come down a lot quicker than I feel I should. I’ve tried to practice the side pole hold and come down slowly, but I come down so quick that there’s no exercise happening. I figure I could do hip raises (lay on your back, feet up, lift hips off the ground, etc) and come down slowly. or lean back on a bench and tuck and extend my legs, but I have no idea what other exercises to do to strengthen my abdomen to correct this. Any advice?

Hi Almaita, I am at the same stage as you in that I don’t have enough core strength to lower myself down from an invert. I also have a sensitive muscle in my back so are not too keen try it until I have enough strength to lower myself down in a controlled way. In the meantime, I get down from my inverts by a twisted dismount (that might by a Kiwi name???) whereby you slide down the pole but twist your body around the pole at the same time. It looks a lot prettier than just sliding down the pole.

Have you tried working on the related lessons shown below the main lesson player? Also the strength building routines listed in the Routines section will help 💜💜
