    Hello Everyone,

I was curious if anyone has any experience with chronic compartment syndrome? I am waiting for my doctors office to call me back about setting up my pressure testing, but my ortho is positive I have it in my calves. I have dealt with it for over a year and it has really affected my poling. I had seen 3 other doctors and even went to 2 therapist and they all wrote it off as nothing, perhaps they didn’t understand when I said I thought they would explode if they got tighter. The constant cramping and numbness is debilitating. I am reading up on it and the only effect treatment appears to be surgery. I am hoping that someone has had success with something less intrusive. I had a hip surgery last January which has left me more fucked up then before and I have no desire for someone to cut into both of my calves. Frankly, I am terrified and I am hoping for something besides everything about this sucks like I am reading.

Oh dear! I don’t know anything about this syndrome but we have some amazing members so hopefully someone can at least point you in the right direction. There must be some other way of relieve other than surgery 🙁

Sorry to hear about it Dino
may be you already did and if not ask your MD to do Doppler test to check the blood flow and tissue perfusion. Are you discussing it with only one orthopaedic surgeon? May be look for a second opinion on diagnosis and treatment before consider surgery because it’s not common for polers.
