    Hey!

So I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. When I do the fireman climb on the pole, my ankle/lower shin area that makes contact with the pole loses a bit of sensation. It is no where near completely numb, but almost feels like its puffy. I can still move everything fine and it does not affect me in any way when I am dancing, but I just thought I would ask if anyone else has experienced this. The slight puffy feeling lingers around for a bit after I finish dancing as well. i’m guessing its just because there is so much pressure on that area when i am climbing? Anyone have any advice? I appreciate it!

Yes, I would say just too much pressure. Over time you’re shine will become use to the position and as technique improves you’ll learn how to move around the pole with more grace, leading to less pain and bruising! 🙂 Hope it’s feeling better now!
