    Hi, everyone,

I’ve just started trying spin mode and am honestly a little frustrated and feel like I am not doing something right or something is wrong with my pole (it’s probably the first). I have been so used to creating momentum to spin around my pole on static, but hear that you aren’t supposed to swing yourself around on spin mode like you do on static, just give more of a slight push as you start. Every video I have watched, people do this and seem to effortlessly get their pole to spin, but when I try, I can’t seem to get it to spin like I feel it should be. It takes a lot of momentum it seems like, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s something I’m doing that is causing the issue. Any advice or tips would be really appreciated! Thanks so much in advance.

    Hey!
I could see that being very frustrating… perhaps even moreso compared to most poles, which spin very easily!
What kind of pole do you have? And, since installing it, have you ever tried it on spin mode? There could possibly be something wrong with how it’s installed- I know some poles are very picky about their installation for spin mode!

My opinion would be to give it a little bit harder push, I’m not experienced in spin mode but I have done a few spins on spin mode, I love spinny it’s fun 🙂

    Runemist,

I have an Xpole Xpert. It’s been installed for quite a while but this is the first time I’ve really tried to do much of anything on spin mode.

And skyember, I think I will try giving maybe just a little bit harder push. It could just be me needing to get used to weight distribution or something.

    Thank you for the replies!

Hi, it could be the pole, if it’s an x-pole and doesn’t spin freely then it’s too tight, if it’s a lil mynx you’ll find that you can use a bit more momentum and the spin is not as free, but still very workable. Could also be technique, to keep a pole spinning you need to have a plan so your movements don’t slow down the spin.

You’ll find some great tips for spinning pole in the quick lesson section here and also in the beginner, intermediate and advanced section at the end of each static spinning lesson.

Thank you! So perhaps I should try loosening the screws a bit more and see how it goes. I will also definitely check out the tips you mentioned!

I had the same trouble with my pole for about a year. Finally, I asked my husband to look at it, here I was screwing the pole into the permanent ceiling mount to tightly.

Thank you, Autumn Sky, I will take this into consideration, too!
