Veena, you have beautiful extension in your legs and feet. Maybe that would a topic of interest for others? I’m not sure. I know you have lessons for these things- I need to do them more often. I have really bent looking knees and Im working to improve that. they have improved some in the past 2 years. what I didnt really understand when I started pole dancing is that extension is something you have to actually train. your legs just dont get straighter on there own. I wish! so now I am doing feet exercises and things like your lower body routine, but I need to do them more often. anyways,I wish I had started working on this sooner. but maybe others might find it helpful. even now, I am trying to work on holding extension when I invert and do leg hangs. My leg hangs look horrible and I couldnt figure out why. when you invert into, say, a gemini, you keep that free leg really straight and pressing down while you are hooking your gemini leg. my free leg was just kind of floating around cause I didnt know to think about that free leg. you know, in the beginning youre just trying not fall. hehe! now I know I can do these tricks but I really learn from observing why your tricks look pretty. it is the extension. sometimes you dont know what you dont know. and thinking about that free leg while doing a gemini- was something I didnt even know to think about until I started videoing myself. then I was like, yuck, my gemini dont look so pretty. why? anyways, Im blabbing. those were some things that Ive been working on. Might give you ideas.

God, I have the same problem with leg extensions! A number of my tricks end up looking kind of weird because I don’t have good extensions OR pointed toes. It’s like a zigzag where there should be a straight line =P Even if I end up with straight legs, I almost always go into a trick with bent legs and have to straighten them once I get into position. I would definitely be interested to know how you get your beautiful leg extensions as well.
I don’t really understand Periscope, though. Do you have to download something to use it? Is it a website? I may be young, but I’m a social media dummy for sure!

I don’t know if I can come up with enough interesting content for extension…..it’s all right here in the lessons and really comes down to practice, and then more practice. You need to strengthen the muscles and lengthen and the routines here focus on this. I worry all I would be able to say is just use the lessons. lol

I know you have a Veena Tips already on how to put a routine together – ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘Œbut the number of dancers I know who get into a sweat about actually creating a dance – whether freestyle or choreographed – as opposed to trick or training practice – I think a talk on finding your freestyle, and how to put a routine together, and how they are different but mutually beneficial things to work at would be great.

Thank you Tropical, sounds like that would fit in nice with lines and flow, as it’s a bit related. I can build from those to a main topic of creating routines, and freestyle tips!
