pole camp
hi,
i am playing with the idea of attending the alex shchukin camp in the summer.
in the description is written that this is for all levels.
but i am worried that i might be the least experienced one and might spend a lot of money and wont profit from it. as i can imagine that most people who attend this will be advanced pole dancer, so they might focus more on them.has anyone attended this pole camp last year and knows a bit more about it?
pole is more an on off thing for me but this year i really wanna pull through and improve!
i only took once a level 1 course (and didnt learn a lot there!) but still it was fun though.
just so you get an idea how far i am. I can invert, pole sit, fireman, butterfly, gemini, thats kinda it. 🙁 -

I went to way advance classes, bootstyle also. Can’t do a cartwheel, can’t do ayiesha (sp). The instructor actually help me flip with a one hand grip on pole doing an advance cartwheel. And l did the other move for a nano second. What did l gain, that l needed to have more upper body strength and l was more motivated to work harder on the pole. So if you need motivation, and it’s worth the money, then go. Otherwise save your money.Hope this helps you out. If the instructor is good, they will usually leave you doing at least one new move, but spotting you. They size up your level pretty fast. Good luck.

but this can be also a big motivation kick.. now i have a couple of month to train alooot till then. -

I went to his camp last year. Yes, at least last year, I’d say 90% of the girls and guys were Instructors. So I was definitely one of the least experienced ones there. Alex is really nice and a good instructor, he always gave various versions of a trick and you could work at your level..the other gilrs were always there to help, spot eacjother and give advice. Having said that, the classes were pretty difficult for an intermediate poler, also because, after three days of 3-4h a day you get tired really quickly, I guess thats just not the usual training schedule for those whole pole for fun only..I went to the week with more floorwork classes and I found them quite difficult to follow, so a lot of people just ended up videoing the choreography to have something to work on at home.
I agree with honolulusushi, its great for motivation. Everyone was soooo supportive and nice, I met some amazing people and had a wonderful time. Also I found it was good value for money, you would pay that to spend a weeks holiday in many places without the pole clases…but for myself, if I had spent 1000e on private lessons, I would have learned more, just because the instructors attention is on you only, at your pace. I would probably recommend that you are at least at intermediate level, shoulder mounting, real confortable inverting and have some stamina and strengh, just to be able to follow easier and enjoy it more…
