New to posting on here but ben lurking and learning for a few weeks now.
I got a pole two weeks ago to use at home and have been practicing 2 sometimes 3x a week.
Today I did my first invert, it’s not all that sexy or smooth but I’m really proud of myself and wanted to share.
I should add that I came to pole pretty athletic already (climbing, boxing and gym every week) so I came with strength. I had no problem lifting myself up but I certainly had issues getting my hips and arse over if that makes sense, I’m not the most flexible person in the world.
I know I shouldn’t be so fixated on just doing inverts but I really like the power moves in pole rather than the dancing side of it. I should also probably add that whilst I can do an invert now after two weeks it also took me that amount of time to figure out a basic fire man spin and I still can’t do a body roll, so checks and balances I think.
    Stay poling : )

Welcome! I’m always excited when someone new starts poling!

I’ve found that pole uses muscles I didn’t even know I had. Like you I came into this fairly athletic. Strong enough to muscle into a lot of moves but making them look smooth, sexy, or graceful took a while. Also agree with you on the hips thing. Bringing them up and back into the invert takes some work and concentration.

    Hi Stoast and Veena
Thank you for welcoming me, I love the wealth of info on the forum and on the website.
I’m definitely sore and bruised today.

Thanks again Veena and SToast x
