Sorry need to get this out my system before I explode in a mass of frustration :

Yesterday my twin came round for a bit of pole play as she hasnt been on in over 6 weeks due to moving out of my house. Everything ok untill we start playing with some inversions. Ive been trying to get the gemeni now for going on 3 weeks with zero success. So can someone tell me how my twin got it on her 2nd bloody try????????

I mean 6 weeks no sodding poling of any sorts, no strength training, absouloutly sod all and she did it on her 2nd go??????????
3 long. frustrating and completely no progression weeks later and im still trying to get the damn thing. Im pissed off, and fast losing motivation, ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH GODDAMNIT!!!! I HATE THIS GODDAMN USELESS BODY IM STUCK WITH!!!!

Ok thanks im all done, take care all, big love and hugs as always x.

Oh honey don’t beat yourself up! I had a pole party and some of the girls were doing spins it took me weeks to learn on their first try! This is advice I’m not great at following myself but everyone moves at their own pace. I’ve been stuck on the darn Superman for ages now and Foxy Rei got it on her first try! It was upsetting but you have to remember you are yourself and not your twin. I’m sure there’s moves you can do well that she would struggle with so try to keep it in perspective. I don’t want you feeling sad, pole is supposed to be about fun not about how much we can or cant accomplish. Keep going you’ll get there https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif

I was hoping Glitter would chim in here because she went through (is going through) the exact same thing with her and the Superman. She was really pissed (just like you lol). But she’s right, you can’t compare yourself to others it will only make you feel bad.

I know that when I take classes and we are working on spins that everyone else knows and I don’t it can be very intimidating. I just keep working on what I can and look forward to the day that I’ll be that good. There will always be someone more advanced than you or that is able to learn some things faster. Such is life lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif You just gotta shrug it off and keep on trucking….and call those people names behind their backs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Hun, I know how you feel because I was feeling the same way about a month or so ago. You know what I did: I stayed away from the pole and worked on me: physically and mentally. I started going to the gym to work on my cardio and strength training. Then, I started giving myself pep talks and telling myself all the great things about me. That was MAJOR!

Follow Glitter’s advice and SissyBuns. It is so true. When I find myself comparing I have to remind myself that I’m no spring chicken and that everyone learns things at different times. I also tell myself that what may come naturally to them doesn’t mean they can do what comes naturally for me!

Hope this helps…And LOVE THAT WONDERFUL BODY OF YOURS! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

    Ha Sissybuns, I love it!
benice, it really can be frustrating when this happens. Its happened to me a couple of times and it IS very disheartening! But the thing you’ve gotta do is keep going. Dont give up!!! You’ll be so proud of yourself when you kick that move’s ass!! My advice (for what its worth) is to give gemini a break. You’re probably so peed off about your twin getting it that you’re trying too hard if that makes sense!!! Concentrate on something else for the moment maybe. Best of luck! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

everyones advice here is beautiful and so uplifting!!!! i cant think of anything new to say!! except please dont give up on yourself, when you start comparing your progress to other girls progress, then you lose the love you had for the sport because you’re so focused on what you Cant do. And focusing on what you Cant do ISNT what got you interested in the sport to begin with…does that make sense? its taking me FOREVER to get the shoulder mount, so i understand your frustrations, but keep at it!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
