I was wonder for all of you who can do a shoulder mount, especially those who just recently got it, how many full situps in a row without stopping can you do? not stopping as in less than 2 seconds in the up/down positions. right now I can do like 30, so I would like to put a number on how far I need to improve, i know its different for everyone but i wanted like a general idea.

*an all the way chest to your knees sit up

I just got the SM, and actually depending on the day sometimes I can’t do it. lol I don’t count how many situps I do, but I do the 8 minute abs video from the 90’s with the guy in the funny leotard that is too tight (please tell me somebody knows what I am talking about). So I do situps for 8 minutes straight without stopping. Next time I do it I will actually count them so I can give you a number. They are actually more like crunches though, are you talking about a situp where you sit all the way up? That might make a difference. Hope that helps https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

It’s not about speed, it’s about strength. That’s what jamilla has said in every class I’ve done with her.
So, its not how many you can do in a row, but how long you can make one last.

ie leg raises, make it last really long, go twice as slow lowering your legs as you did raising them.
that’s the way to build strength in the abs – and it works, about once a week, I have a go at a basic invert and I notice the difference.

So try that for a bit and see if it makes a difference.

I dunno if I’ll be much help with this either, but I rarely do sit ups. I have to back up Rouge in saying a lot of it is the duration of how long you can hold moves that engage your abs. I also try to do exercises where I work different muscles in my abs because I agree with the school of thinking that your abs should be trained in sections and not as just one muscle but Veena might disagree since she’s a fancy trainer and all https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Lately I’ve been doing leg raises while hanging off of a pull up bar at the gym and those are killer!

Stacey the same thing happened to me with sm!
