pole coming/popcorn ceilings?
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif I have another question. Popcorn ceilings. I am planing to keep my pole up but I have to handle the popcorn ceiling with care as to insillation-asbestos and all. Any ideas on how to avoid or easily/safely remove just the surrounding area???

If it is asbestos and you want to remove some of it, you really should have a pro do it. I would be unsafe to try to remove it yourself.

Same here! There are a few small spots where some of the popcorn came off..but it’s not noticeable at all!

If it’s not absestos and your really want to take it down, just spray the offending area with water until damp, let soak, spray again and scrape with a putty knife. It should take it all off, just make sure to lay down a drop cloth because the process is messy.
I hate popcorm ceilings and will take them down any chance I get.
If you want to patch it back up again they sell single use spray cans of the popcorn and plaster mix at any home improvement store.

I’ve got popcorn ceilings in every room of my house! I used to hate them but they’re cute with my modern looking house! Anyway, I put up and take down my x-pole and don’t have a problem with any of it falling off. My husband almost didn’t want me to order the pole because he was worried about the ceiling stuff crumbling off but I did it anyway and it’s just fine.
