    Anyone interested?

I sort of failed miserably in my last attempt, but have recently enrolled in my fitness center's membership program and will be working out a LOT more regularly. I've also started trying the Eat Clean recipes once or twice a week which is an improvement on my eating habits 😉

I would love some support and to see some other ladies here give this a first or second go! Anyone can start at any time, let's just throw in questions, answers, progress and support here!

I started on Monday last week, so today (Monday) makes day 7 for me…

Day One – Daisy Dukes class (ouchies my bum is sooo sore!)

    Day Two – Pole Class

Day Three – Ballet Bodyworx class (low intensity)

Day Four – Rest (class canceled)

Day Five – 15 minute ab workout

Day Six – 30 minute walk

So I'm gonna keep most of my goals from my last attempt, since I failed so miserably as to achieve so few of them…

    POLE MOVES-

    Flag

    Invert Tuck (no momentum)

    Extended Butterfly

    Shoulder Mount

    EXERCISES-

    15 Pushups no break

    1 minute Plank

    50 Crunches no break

    5 second Handstand

    STRETCHES-

Get my hands 3 inches past my toes in pike position

I'll try to post my current stats for my exercises/stretches soon..

I'm also doing 30 days of yoga for 30 mins for flexibility.. maybe i'll extend it another month and see what happens! It's definitely been helping! Almost into the splits! Yay!

It's tone up time for sure!!!

More than happy to lend some support! 🙂

I’m in too. I need to drop 25 lbs like yesterday. I eat well, under 1200, and I exercise my booty off. so, I’m 99.9 percent sure alcoholic beverages are keeping me chunky. so my 100 day challenge is no alcohol except on saturday, limit two, must be a diet version. maybe ten lbs will be my goal. I think thats reasonable.

Poleluvndallas eating under 1200 calories a day is probably why your body won’t let go of the weight. Eating too little calories can shift the metabolism to burn slower to save energy.

    Hey there Poleluvndallas…….

Yeah………..1200 calories……..not so good as Philly mentioned.

You need to base your daily coloric intake on your BMR—Basal Metabolic Rate.

    http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

There is a quick calculator to figure out what your BMR should be approximately.

Once you have that, you can follow the directions to use the proper number(based on activity level) to calculate what your calories should be.

I actually just wrote 2 opinionated articles on this very topic……gave my clients huge giggles…..my humor and all~~

If you look at it this way—-

Your body is a ship. If you aren't eating enough, it is going to pull a mutiny. It will store every single thing you put in it to make sure it doesn't get lost out at see with no provisions to feed the crew.

Or—Would you expect to drive your car on an empty tank? Likely not. You will run out of gas on the side of the road…..

Your BRM takes into account the bare minimum your body needs to run your organs, have brain function and breathe….

Based on the next calculation(your activity level) you can gauge what you need to just maintain the weight you are at….right now.

A pound is worth 3500 calories. I recommend my clients take some out of the daily intake and use exercise to burn off the other.

If you wanted to lose a pound a week(1-2 per week is healthy) They burn off 250 per day, and eat 250 less calories.

Metabolism unto itself is a very complex organism…..several things will affect it…..medication for example. Most of us at some point may end up on anti depressants. Unfortunately, most anti depressants cause metabolic disorders. Other factors are genetic predispotions etc….

I tell my clients 3 major things—–

    Eat less….move more.

Stay away from the scale for the frist 4-6 weeks they are coming to see me. (cause likely, it will read heavier as I put muscle on them) We need lean muscle mass…..it is what burns the calories.

Diet—is something I eat every day. Not a fad….not a trend. Eating healthy and moving will cause weight loss varying from person to person on the amounts, but you need to burn off more than you put in.

So…in short, 1200 is likely way below what you body requires for basic function…..and yes, it will store everything as you have placed it into a starvation mode. Which, causes things to burn slower as Philly said.

There are a number of us that are personal trainers on here….including Veena herself. If you have any questions, post in the forums…..one or all of us are always happy to help.

Let us know what ya need darlin~~~

Huge hugs….and remember……you didn't put on the 25lbs in one week, it won't come off in a week. Nor should if it is healthy weight loss……25lbs should take about 12cor 13 weeks at 2lbs per week…..

Good advice on the food intake…

For myself I find it hard to count my food intake – mainly because when I don't eat at home I don't know how to count that (Jersey Mike Sub almost daily…). And when combining ingredients how do I know the nutritional facts about each one (veggies?). Also do you combine nutritional facts from EACH to get the total?

Yesterday I decided to take an early morning Ballet Basics class, then after work I took my regular pole class and immediately following took an Open Pole class (slightly harder since I pushed myself on moves my class hasn't learned yet).

Today I am sore, but more importantly… I think my boobs are getting smaller… 0_o

I'm not for sure but it does seem like it. Has that happened to anyone else during/after many days of hard exercise? I certainly don't mind it if they firm up (=P) but just curious…

So how is everyone else doing?? Made any goals? Had any successes or failures? I have found that working out just before work does wonders for my motivation… yesterday I was super happy during work (which helps in customer service). However when I took a two day break a few days ago I got really lazy and tired and unmotivated =/

Reyn! That's a busy day! Hope you're taking a day off to recoop and let those muscles rebuild 😉

As for the boobage, my are shrinking too.. but most likely for other reasons as I just stopped taking my BC pills after being on the for 2 years.

I think it's normal for a bit of shrinking to happen. If you're working your body out frequently, you're obviously burning fat, which is what your "ladies" are made up of for the better part. 😉 I don't think they'll disappear on you though not to worry!

I feel your pain though… quite literally haha i've been doing 1+ hours of pole and 1 hour of yoga/splitz stretchng for the past three days on top of a pretty heavy chest and upper back work out yesterday afternoon. Time for a rest day?? I think so! 🙂

How is everyone else doing?? 🙂

Ahh well I was going to go to another class tonight but after that comment I thought about it and decided against it. I'll go to the one tomorrow instead 😉

Sounds like you've got some hard work in Sair, keep it up!!

Whew! 100 days… I guess I’m sorta doing something similar. A couple of weeks ago I finished a jillian michaels DVD (along with poling every other day), it’s called the 30 Day Shred. I only skipped 2 days, otherwise no breaks. It’s only a 20 min vid, but man she kicked my butt!!! It gave me the jumpstart I needed. I’ve cut out a lot of sugar from my diet (mainly dr pepper…total addict…so bad for you though! Lol) and added a lot more water intake as well as turning to gran fruits & veggies for snacks.

(oops I posted that before I was done…stupid iPhone!)

Anyway, so now after those 30 days I started her 6 week 6 pack DVD.. I’ll be on my last day on mothers day, so happy mothers day to me if I get a 6 pack that’s finally visible! 🙂

Y’all keep up the amazing work!

    That’s awesome Kat!

I am trying to rely less on fast food quickies… It’s tough when you’re about to go to the gym after work and hungry as balls… But I know it’ll make a huge difference.

Today during my Pole Jam (strengthening) class I had a student thy took the Open Pole class come up to me and tell me how awesome I am at Pole dancing. Man it feels good to ge complimented when you’re working so hard for something 🙂

Kat – a six pack for mothers day is probably the best gift ever 😉 You should definitely post some before and after pics!

Reyn – What a great compliment! I've seen your pics and i'm sure that you're a stellar dancer! 🙂

The best/easiest snack before or after a workout (assuming you're not allergic to tree nuts of course) is an apple and a handful of almonds, a great source of protein and natural sugars to get you feeling like you aren't about to faint 😉 haha Sounds lame.. but it helps so much! I put an apple/the almonds in my bag everyday thinkging I won't eat them and low and behold, they're gone by the end of the day.
