I have a boy band probably not many will be familiar with, but will be fun putting something together to it.  It's old school to the days before I was married over 34 years ago.

ooh goodie! this sounds fun. i cant wait to do this one =)

i found it puzzling that a boy band is a band compromised of all young boys, but a girl band is a band of either all young girls, or older girls.  for example, nsync were all young boys and therefore a boy band.  but destiny's child were not young girls- they were young women, yet considered a girl band.  bananarama is a girlband, yet they are not girls… they are women.  duran duran is not considered a boyband because the members were older.  led zepplin is not a boyband for the same reason.  does anyone else find this weird and possibly offensive?

I’ve always thought boy and girl bands are groups consisting of only singers. I think they tend to be teens or in their 20’s. I was a huge backstreet boys fan back in the day. One member was a teen the rest were all in their early 20’s. I think maybe the reason why the boys are younger may be that their target audience is little girls, and if memory serves me right when i was 12 I recall thinking musicians we’re old when they hit 30! :O lol and only crushed on boy band members. I also adored spice girls and looked up to them, it didn’t bother me they were in their 20’s.
This sounds like a fun challenge 😀

oh- that makes sense… led zep actually plays instruments, whereas boyband members are just singers.  i wiki'd it to see some examples of boybands and girlbands, and the boybands listed were all boys- the girlbands however were women, so it just seemed off balance.  also- it might be more acceptable for young boys to sing about love and girls whereas a young girl group singing about the same topics may be taboo.

So I'm going to assume that the Hanson brothers are not a boy band? LOL!

You don’t have to be too specific, as long as there’s a group of people singing and it’s not just a solo artist, that’s good enough for me 🙂
