2014 March Challenge
Posted by Veena on February 28, 2014 at 10:26 amOur member Saphyre had a fun suggestion for this month, it’s called “From the Beginning”! I decided to create two options for everyone to choose from.
Option 1. Record in order the first pole move you learned and end with the last. These can be spins, moves, combos or a mix. The goal is to go in order.
Option 2. Choose a song from one of the very first videos you ever posted and dance to it again! You can use the same pole work/routine or completely change how you express the song.
I think either option will give everyone a great look into how much they’ve grown and learned!
Here is our Lovely Saphyre demonstrating option 1 https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/530919c5-c42c-4464-be28-6d9d0a9aa0ebShow us how you’ve grown!!

Right now, I’m really wishing I kept track of the dates of moves/poses as I learned them 🙂

Yippee!!! I actually may do another one. My technique wasn’t the best on this one and I missed a few moves! Plus, it was a fantastic workout to smash them all together. I can’t wait to see what everyone does!

What a fab idea….. Although I still haven’t got around to recording the Feb challenge. Argh

Sounds fun! You have all my original videos. May see if I can tie the new with the old when I edit.

This sounds like fun. I have a new pole area at my place and this will be my first challenge. I think 2 would be easy for me then I can split some of the old video with the new if I ever learn how to use the editor!

So, my poleversary is coming up next month and I’m still not as good or advanced as some /most of my pole sisters here, so I thought this would be a good 1st challenge to participate in. Well I just got done writing down the moves and omg! I just don’t know!! Lol, looks daunting and some of these moves I don’t even remember how they go! Lol!!

dd!! That is why it’s called a Challenge!! Just do what you feel comfortable with….

I just spent HOURS looking for the first pole video I’ve ever recorded- June 2007. It is TERRIBLE quality/filming and my song tastes have significantly changed, but I’m super excited to do this. I have participated in challenges but never posted one… Now I’m really tempted.

This is such a great idea for a challenge! LOVE IT!
I definitely don’t think I can do option 1… have no idea the time course of all the tricks I’ve learned over the last 4+ years haha Although, I did just go back and look at the very first video I ever posted here (probably 6-10 months after starting to pole) and pretty much smacked my head into the table when I realized that I still haven’t gotten solid in the trick I was working on then! The superman drop is apparently a nemesis for me! I never thought of it that way because I never really feel the need to work on it and get it perfect… but seeing how long ago I first started trying definitely makes me feel bad about not bothering to clean it up!
I’ve got a couple of songs from my first couple videos that I think would be fun to revisit… I’ll be making a point of doing this challenge 😀 -
It would be fun if those who are doing the second option (re do, dance) would share their first video along with the second in the discussion here! If you have access to a link that is 🙂

Danielle Tillie has a free style I did on her page a LONG time ago. I cringe to watch it and even had her take it off YT. It is embarrassing. Free styling did not come easy to me and is still something I am working on, I do, however feel that I can do that song justice now. I am excited to work on this!

This challenge is GENIUS! My first vid was on myspace…hmmmm

I just recently looked up my first freestyle that I have video to. I should definitely revisit the song because I love Alanis Morrisette! And I was wearing shoes!
