I cant even imagine having to judge something like that. that would be soooo hard. I mean, theyre all good. it’s almost like watching the olympics, they are all at the top of their game. pretty much the only thing to lower their score are tiny mistakes not even noticeable. a flexed foot, something like that.

ipole2 here is the link 🙂 http://streaming.bodybuilding.com/2015-arnold-webcast/?replay=friday-night-pole-fitness-finals

I actually had to look up what armchair quarterbacking meant and I feel you should have at least watched the stream before insulting us. We’re allowed to have an opinion: be that saying “I liked X’s performance” or “I think Y should have placed higher than X” because those are our opinions and we are free to say them in a public forum amongst our peers. We are not bashing the competitor, nor are we harassing her. We’re not experts as you’ve said so our OPINIONS do not hold weight past this thread so they aren’t hurting anyone

Well, I’m just going to bow out of this conversation now. I did not intend my comments as insults against anyone in this thread and I’m very sorry they were taken as such. Once again, I posted because I have seen threads similar to this repeatedly after competitions and thought it was a general trend worth some discussion. Apparently I’m alone in that thought, which is fine. I wish all the best to everybody here.

I’m 40minutes into it and I’m loving it sooo very very much.
I’ll comment on the performances when I’m all done… BUT I’m not really seeing any problems with the camera, that I notice…
I agree the banter between Annemarie and Fawnia is distracting, I do wish there was an option to mute it but keep the music… HOWEVER, I wonder if ice skaters feel like that when they watch the olympics or something, but as a non-ice skater I appreciate someone talking a little bit to help me follow and keep me engaged.
So I could see if the majority of the scores were based on artistry and performance that I would really want them just to play the music and be quiet. But I guess since it’s heavily weighted on the technical aspect its nice to have someone point out some things?!? I don’t know.
The chit chat between performances is awkward to me.. specifically the male, Vertical Jo is fine. But I’ve found some of his comments a little cringe-worthy.
Can’t wait to see how this turns out!

11:15 pm Sunday night in Kigali, and I’m watching the replay now. Whoo-hoo! I’ll be useless at school tomorrow, but thanks for the link! 🙂

Wow. Thanks again for sharing this:
My final thoughts is I do think the camera for Jazzy’s performance in particular was zoomed in and didn’t capture the whole move. but she really looked lovely. I do think in person it would have been breathtaking.
As far as Tara’s performance… I really enjoyed itI think if there wasn’t commentary I would never have noticed the things they were saying she didn’t do perfectly (bent knees and such) just because she was so fluid I wouldn’t have noticed.. maybe the judges didn’t either.
Yes, Estefania Duque was breathtaking. Right off the bat she grabbed me and pulled me in with that toe point rise.
I actually really liked Amber Fox’s performance too. I know the doll thing has been done before, but I really liked it, and I thought she was really cute.
I can also see how, like Veena was saying, that the numbers might have surprised people. If each judge had a different aspect to judge I do see how the final numbers could end up not being what you’d expect.
Thanks again for sharing. This was fantastic.

Allysonkendal. yes! that guy announcer was very awkward at first. after a while him and Joe were getting more comfortable but I just felt uncomfortable watching them at first. seemed like there was some tension there and that guy was maybe taking this all as a joke because he didnt know what to expect. I imagine many people not familiar with pole might think of this as a joke. I think it is so good that Arnold recognized this for what it is as a skill in strength and included it in the competitions. Im sure this competition will get bigger and better every year!

Haha btw I meant Amber Wolf, with the doll thing…
too many names, I got confused. But i also liked Ashley Fox’s performance. 😛

I dont think there was a stream of the amateur competition. 🙁 I wanted to see that even more than the professional competition!! if you do find it will you post it here? I was really searching and trying to find and couldnt find anything. yes! amber wolf is amazing! and Ashley Fox is so delicate and pretty like a little pole fairy.
-
I was on definitely on point with trying to find the link to the amateur competition but unfortunately they didn’t air it 🙁
I have been seeing a few clips from other pole events going down at the Arnold on IG and I guess that’s all I’m going to get, lol
You guys are very welcome!

I loved watching it too. Thanks for sharing. I don’t feel qualified to comment on the performances, although I really liked Ashley Fox. Hopefully I can get to her studio. That being said, my biggest gripe was with the male emcee. And yes I am judging. To me I thought he was rude, not funny, and at times a bit sexist. Also, the show started with him talking to the winner of the fitness comp. she was wearing a thong bikini. Why in the world would they then have the dialogue about sports bra and shorts and he made that snide comment about how little clothing polers wear. Seriously, our outfits looked like tents in comparison to weight lifting and fitness clothing! He was the most offensive aspect of the whole show.

If you search youtube a lot of the amateur routines have been going up.
