Despite my wicked bad head cold, I managed to do my 92 seconds for day 2 this evening. Woot! ๐
Now to get over this stupid cold so I can start doing more of the exercises here on StudioVeena!
-
Oh, one more thing. I discovered that the app talks to you with a kind of countdown!
I usually have my phone on mute as a matter of habit, and when I was about to go and do day 2 this evening, I mentioned to my partner that I wish it beeped or something when it reaches the end of the timer so that I didn’t have to watch it count down.
I happened to not have it on mute and was surprised when it announced, ‘One minute to go. Stay strong!’ LOL!! ๐

No way! I was so excited to read that. My phone is always on silent too. I put the sound back on, volume on loud and tried all my challenges (6 of them now!!! My poling had better improve after this!) but it didn’t talk to me ๐ I feel unloved and rejected by an app lol.
In other news, I’ve reset the push ups challenge. I hadn’t really done push ups before and I’ve realised I was doing them wrongly (too shallow) to be effective. So today I started again (I was on 23) and managed… 4. Going right down to the floor and slowly back up is sooooo hard! My poor arms! -
My body is starting to dislike planks. Or maybe it’s me not liking them anymore. But I want to hang in there. I better see some abs when I am done. My bridges are still going great. It’s just the planking ugh
-
How odd that it didn’t talk to you, Anzia! That’s weird.
I can’t recall if you have a iPhone or Android.
-
Ah, well, I have an iPhone. Not sure I can help.
Does Android have personalised profiles for various sounds? Maybe you were on a profile where apps are muted but not the ‘main’ parts of the phone?
-
I’ll check that. Thanks ferrous! Day off on most of them today. I just had to do tricep dips and push ups. Back to the killer 161 sec plank tomorrow, eeeek.
-
Thanks all ๐ you have motivated me. 30 day challenge here I come ๐ downloaded the App yesterday. Looks like I may not be able to pole much or at all for the next couple of weeksdue to injured wrist, but will see if I can plank while wearing a wrist brace. At least my abs should be stronger when I can get back to pole ๐
-
Good luck! Like someone above said, I sometimes have my arms flat on the forearm with palms resting on the floor, and sometimes use the side of my forearms with the outer edges of my hands resting on the floor. Either way seems pretty neutral for my wrists so hopefully you’ll find it a comfortable exercise. Well, comfortable other than your upper arms, abs and legs all screaming at you lol.

Bummer about your wrist, Hazi411 รขโฌยฆ but that’s a pretty funky wrist brace you have there! Is it a type of plastic that is moulded to your own hand? It looks really interesting.
-
Thanks. Yes it is a bummer ๐ and yes it is moulded to fit. Interesting (and expensive!) process. “Her” name is Violetta and we will be together 24/7 for the next couple of weeks except in the shower! I had a choice of colours – unfortunately not pink, though, so this was the next best choice ๐

One more week of plank. I am so over it, but going to hang in there. Had to have some extra rest days the past 2 weeks because I wasn’t feeling so well.
My bridges are going great. Love the burn in my legs and bum. -
I’m up to day 10 today and I’ll be increasing to 2 minutes and 2 seconds.
I’m still enjoying it. I set mine to easy, because after 3 years of inactivity, I wasn’t sure if I could cope with making it harder for myself.
On the days that there’s an increase of 10 seconds, I’m really feeling it, but on the days that it stays at the same time, I can actually feel it getting slightly easier than the day before. That’s exciting! ๐
