I’m sure the inflammation has reduced considerably 😀 been doing positive affirmations which I’m sure has helped. Have to wait another week and a bit before Violetta and I go back to the hand therapist.

I’m almost finished it, but I’m finding I need to pause a whole lot more and I can’t hold it as long as I could. It’s hurting my shoulders as soon as I get into it. I’m in line and doing it correctly but It’s just hurting. blah.

I started this a month ago on medium, with an initial starting time of 50 seconds and I’m only on day 20… I know I haven’t been perfect at doing it everyday, but I keep on pushing. Today was 3 min 50 sec and it seemed to take FOREVER! I don’t know how I’ll get up to the six minutes on day 30. Also, if I switch to “easy” mode now, it seems to take me back to much shorter times. What I wish the app would do is take the last time I completed it on medium and start the easy from that time… does that make sense?
Is this 30 day challenge taking anyone else besides me more than 30 days? Tell me I’m not alone! 🙂

I’ve had a week off now with a bug… haven’t been poling either. Weak and headachey/queasy 🙁 But I’m thinking about where to go with this anyway because I mentioned it to my physio and she said she recommended increasing load rather than endurance based on my description of what pole dancing involves for me. She said I should, for example, bridge with a weight on my core, and increase the weight each time I do it rather than the length of time. Apparently that will improve my pole performance more than doing the move for longer. (This obviously may only apply to me based on what I do in classes and with what she knows about my body’s strengths and weaknesses – I’m not saying everyone should!) Anyway, the bug is finally going and I will make pole class tonight and decide what to do. I think in general I’ve been doing lots of exercise (sometimes finishing at 11.30 pm) and the physio has challenged me to exercise smarter rather than longer and to really focus on what will have maximum benefit for my specific strength/flexibility issues. It’s true I haven’t previously had specific goals for pole. When I sat down on Sunday and worked out my goals, some of the challenges didn’t contribute to them at all and neither did some of my other fitness stuff. Lots for me to think about!

I have been somewhat following this topic. I have seen some posts about concern or frustration at not being able to progress quickly or not do the challenge daily. Please don’t get frustrated or compare. It should be a journey to improve or progress in a way that works for you. I am doing the challenge, however, have not done a plank day for over a week. We were on vacation and even though we didn’t go anywhere, I just didn’t get to it. Plus I have my pole schedule and have started a yoga program that has kicked my butt. Some days I am just tooooo sore to do a 3 minute plank! Other days I just plain forget.

I will continue and work up at my pace and life schedule (which includes forgetting lol). This 30 day Plank Challenge may take me months, and that’s okay.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks HookedonPole. Makes me feel better to know I’m not the only one who thinks that a 30 day challenge might not be finished in 30 consecutive days… 🙂 Good luck!

Ive been following this thread a little bit havent done it yet. Im happy to say i have downloaded the 30 days app and plan to start after my day or two of rest ( been working on alot of inverted moves so my body needs it!!) Im excited to see and feel the results as my core can definitely use some strengthening.
