I bought my first pole in the 45mm and I really like it because I have small hands but I have never used a larger one. I do however have super skinny legs and no booty at all I have a feeling a bigger pole might help that some but I don't think I would give up on this smaller pole because grip is so important.

I started with a 50mm and always had grip problems. I thought it was just due to sweaty hands, but with a 45mm I have no grip problems at all! I dont even need to clean the pole more then every 10 min or so, while with the 50mm it is almost after very move. My legs, thighs and armpits however are not happy with the 45mm… maybe its because I'm too skinny or just need time to get used to it (I just got the 45mm less then 2weeks ago) but right now I have bruises all over like I had when first start poling and even simple things like pole sits are painfull again… can't even imagine how a 38mm would feel..

eva, I have a hard enough time trying to grip on a 50 with my legs. It actually makes my husband laugh because I have squeezed him so hard with my thighs he can't breathe but can't get a grip on the freaking pole without crossing my legs over. My thighs do not meet when my legs are side by side.

Damn that sucks! Have you tried leaning to the side when doing pole sit like stuff.? That way you grip with the front of one thigh and the back of the other. 🙂

My thighs dont meet when my legs are side by side, but I'm switching to a 45mm for my smaller hands. Will I get used to it? I don't want to end up with a pole I can't grip D:
