5 Reasons To Get naked More Often
Posted by Veena on November 11, 2014 at 10:30 amI came across this and thought I should share! We see a lot of discussions about body image here and so this fits right in. I personally would love to see a day where in America we are not shamed for nudity, but that it would be seen as normal and healthy. I really is difficult to learn how to love and accept others and their beauty, regardless of age, fitness level and size, until you become comfortable with your own body and the amazingness it offers! http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-16054/5-reasons-to-get-naked-more-often.html

Agreed! Betty page was a strong believer in the “air bath!” She would get fully nude and open all the windows so the breeze came in and yep exactly like it sounds, air bath!

“”Imperfection” means there is an object of perfection, and that is just not true.”
This one hit me pretty good. I’ve been struggling against the idea of “perfection” for a while, and I just couldn’t put into words why I felt like it was incorrect!
Thanks for sharing, Veena!

Thank you for posting Veena. This was a good read. I think that the part about comparisons, perfections, and body image are mainly accurate. However, I don’t agree that wearing make-up is necessarily a put-down of the body/face that you have. I think for some peope that is true and they are simply covering up what they perceive as flaws. I think for others we simply like to look different and/or enhance what may consider already natural beauty. I don’t think make-up necessarily has to be considered any different than wearing clothes and I wear what is flattering but when I’m in what I consider my best shape, I don’t wear clothes to hide my shape but rather accentuate what I find appealing. We cannot in any way, shape or form deny that beauty is real, we can although agree that perfection (of the body) is not…….

So I just a wanna know if the new house has a hot tub!
I am a person that needs to have at least one article on. I feel completely vulnerable being totally naked in public. I am not really sure where that comes from but it is how I am. Now that article can be just a belt or my shoes but I always leave *something* on.

Outraged reporter asking Marilyn Monroe about her nude photo shoot past
‘Were you not wearing anything?’
Marilyn: ‘I was wearing Chanel No. 5’
Reporter: ‘But didn’t you have ANYTHING on?’
Marilyn: ‘Why yes sir. I had the radio on’

Tropicale that’s an awesome post. Sometimes we need a “Love it” button up in here!

I’ve been working on acceptance of my body ever since my dad thought it was cute to call me “Buddha belly” when I was 12. When Jay Shultz referred to me as “pleasantly plump” around age 14. I’ve exercised ever since then and prayed to God not to give me an ass like my mother’s. I began poling in August 2014 and seeing all the different body types and the strength and grace possible no matter what the body shape has really sealed it for me. I love my body now more than ever thanks to my pole experience. 🙂

I think I was lucky to be brought up with 2 women who had very different perspectives on their bodies. One lady was not happy with her body, but didn’t mind me seeing her naked in the bath whilst I washed her back or when getting dressed. The other lady used to walk around brazenly naked and often in a morning I would be woken with a her leaning over me in naked glory to open the curtains singing “wakey wakey”.
I learnt that I wanted to be modest with my nakedness but proud of my body and all the glory that it beholds.
Each ounce of fat is a memory of the too good times (eating too much, drinking too much, usually whilst in good company) and each toned muscle is a memory of hard work and effort and my body size and shape is the mirror image of my Mum and I am grateful that she shared her beautiful genetics with me.
Only tonight, I found this http://www.thenuproject.com whilst mooching around the net and I think this work is beautiful…I love the human form in all it’s shapes and sizes. It makes me sad when I see people feeling bad about their beautiful bodies
